What to Watch Thursday: Charlie Sheen's Anger, a Burning Vengeance, Unlucky Louie and More

On TV this Thursday: Agent Pearce puts her fiancé’s murderer on Notice, an Emmy-winning guest star gets the Suits hot under the collar and Louie has quite the opening day. (Oh, and then there’s Charlie Sheen’s new gig, which you’ve perhaps already heard about.) As but a supplement to TVLine’s original features (linked below), here are nine programs to keep on your radar.

8 pm Duets (ABC) | In the competition’s first live show, the pros and their partners sing songs from this millennium — which could mean they’ll perform an awesome tune you haven’t heard in a few years… but might also mean they’ll cue up “Call Me Maybe.”

8 pm Breaking Pointe (The CW) | It’s opening night! Will Allison be able to tackle the tempos and multiple roles? (Or has she been too busy Tweeting?) Will Ronnie live up to expectations?

9 pm Burn Notice (USA Network) | Agent Pearce wants Michael’s help to get revenge on her fiancé’s killer, but the dude in question is under protection as a CIA asset. Awkward.

9 pm Anger Management (FX) | Double-episode series premiere: Irony, thy name is Charlie Sheen playing a non-traditional therapist specializing in [see series title]. Selma Blair (Kath & Kim), Shawnee Smith (Becker), Barry Corbin (The Closer), Daniela Bobadilla (Awake), Michael Arden (GCB) and Noureen DeWulf (Hawthorne) co-star.

10 pm Wilfred (FX) | The official start of Season 2 (after last week’s “special preview”) finds the titular pup refusing to help Ryan with his problems because he feels like he doesn’t get much out of their relationship. Look, Wilfred, someone’s picking up the poop in this pairing, and I don’t think it’s you.

10 pm Suits (USA Network) | Emmy winner Margo Martindale (Justified) guest-stars as a tough nurse whose union threatens to strike against a hospital that Harvey represents. And when Daniel gets involved, Mike is caught in the middle.

10 pm Kathy (Bravo) The Newsroom’s Jane Fonda, Our America’s Lisa Ling and The Talk’s Sharon Osbourne join the bawdy redhead for some chat.

PREVIEW | Awkward Season 2 Brings Broken Hearts, New Romances and Many Mortifying Moments!

10:30 pm Louie (FX) | In the Season 3 opener, Louie has a challenging day that may or may not include ice cream for breakfast, a most unfortunate encounter with a piece of heavy machinery, and a motorcycle.

11 pm Brand X With Russell Brand (FX) | Premiere: The naughty Brit comedian and former Katy Perry spouse hosts this new late-night gab fest.

  • I really wish Sheen was playing Wild Thing from Mayor League. I bet that’s why they made this character a baseball player, for the connection to that popular character.

  • Louie, Louie, Louie, Louwaaahhhhhh! I’m also in it for Wilfred and Burn Notice, but Louie is exactly what I need tonight. I was so excited to see Parker Posey in the previews, I hope we get her for more than just one episode. That was Parker Posey calling him fat in the previews, wasn’t it?
