Thursday Ratings: NBA Clincher a Slam-Dunk, Bieber Down, Take Me Out Up, Saving Hope Drops

The deciding game of this year’s NBA Finals Heated up the Nielsens, drawing at the very least 15.5 million total viewers and a 6.4 demo rating on Thursday night, based on very preliminary numbers.

While Fox’s The Choice (4.2 mil/1.5) weathered that Thunder storm, dipping just a tenth in the demo, NBC’s Saving Hope (2.6 mil/0.5) was severely injured, down 34 and 29 percent, respectively. (It’s also worth noting that Hope had a significantly weaker lead-in last night, with NBC’s Bieber special putting up about half the numbers of last week’s America’s Got Talent rerun.)

In the 10 o’clock hour, Rock Center held steady at 3.8 mil/0.8.

Opening the night, Part 2 of NBC’s aforementioned Justin Bieber: Around the World special drew 3.1 mil and a 0.8, down a tenth in the demo from Wednesday and putting it in fourth place ahead of only The CW’s Breaking Pointe (which gained a few eyeballs, hitting 910K). Fox’s Take Me Out (3.15 mil/1.2), meanwhile, saw gains of 20 and 9 percent.
