Ratings: Justin Bieber Hits a Low Note for NBC

Part 1 of NBC’s Justin Bieber: All Around the World special on Wednesday night drew 3.3 million total viewers and a 0.9 demo rating with them oldsters in the 18-49 demo. That puts it 47 percent below what the Peacock’s recent Adele music special scored.

NBC’s Biebfest thus only bested The CW’s Top Model repeats in the pre-bedtime 8 o’clock hour, trailing shows such as Dogs in the City and ABC sitcom reruns. (Reminder: Part 2 airs tonight at 8 pm.)

Elsewhere on Wednesday….

* So You Think You Can Dance‘s Vegas round led the night in total audience and in the demo, slipping just a hair week-to-week to 6.5 mil and a 2.4.

* ABC’s Duets (4.2 mil/1.1) held steady in the demo and even gained a few eyeballs this week; it returns to Thursday nights starting June 28.

* CBS’ aforementioned Dogs show was down out 10 percent, to 5 mil and a 1.0.

  4. Larry says:

I don’t know why the broadcast networks try to cater to kids or young people. Besides NICK or Disney channel, programs that are geared more to young people usually don’t do very well. Most kids watch television on-line. Parents and other adults don’t generally turn the channel for specials like Bieber.

  5. tim says:

His CD is gonna be number one with a record number for the year of 440,000 units. I don’t think anyone knew that the show was on and Adele’s was on a sunday.

  8. Megan says:

Well, maybe because no one over the age of 15 really cares about Justin Bieber let alone wants to watch a special where he compares himself to The Beatles and Michael Jackson.
