TVLine Items: Pretty Little Liars Season 3 Scoop, George Eads Inks New CSI Deal and More!

Pretty Little Liars kicks off its third season Tuesday, June 5 at 8/7c, and ABC Family has just released a juicy synopsis of the premiere. Here’s what to expect when we return to Rosewood:

“A summer has passed since Aria, Emily, Hanna and Spencer found out about Mona being ‘A’ and Maya’s death…. Each of the four girls spent their summer in different ways – Aria taking a photography class, Spencer taking college courses at Hollis, Hanna taking cooking classes with Caleb and Emily building houses in Haiti. But… with post-traumatic stress, anger and the acquisition of more secrets the four Liars are anything but fine. Now all back together and coming upon the second anniversary of Alison’s disappearance, the girls find themselves back on the defensive when a shocking event rocks Rosewood.”

    • That wouldn’t really “rock Rosewood” would it? More like just the girls.

  • I’m thinking our pretty little liars are gonna find themselves with another dead body on their hands and a new A will start harassing them.

    • I actually appreciate ABC Family’s quick turnaround on their shows. HBO, Showtime and AMC should take note; with their extended breaks of around nine months, I it is hard to anticipate these shows as I forget what has transpired (Breaking Bad excluded- that show is worth the wait). ABC, CBS, NBC should take note of ABC Family’s lack of long hiatuses during the season as well (ABC I am looking at you re: Revenge). I think this is a channel that understands their audience and is working hard to satisfy the rabid fans!

      • Well the tv shows on HBO and Showtime usually have about 12 episodes, while PLL had 24 episodes for season 2.

      • i agree 100%. i hate to wait for 6 to 8 months so i can watch a new season, or even wait 2 months for a new episode.

  • The quick turn around is actually on of the things I really admire that about ABC family. Keeps me interested and allows me to remember everything that went on in the show without having to sit through a marathon two nights before the premiere.

Uhm Gossip Girl anyone? Longest Hiatus Ever. I no longer care about it.

  • ABC Family normally (and a couple other cable networks do similar things) has ~3 months of new shows, then ~3-4 months off and they start again…no different than normal TV with how many episodes are made, they just release them out of the normal Sept.- May TV Season. As for what is going to “rock” Rosewood – if they are using the word rock it must be pretty significant – altho they did tell us “A” wouldn’t be the same person as the books and we all know how that turned out. I think it will be something to do with Spencer’s family, Garrett is Melissa’s baby daddy????

    • Actually they didn’t said that it wasn’t going to be the same A as the books, they said it wouldn’t be as the books (which it isn’t because in the book it happens in a different way and A changes several times). I think…
SPOILER ALERT! STOP READING IF YOU HAVEN’T READ THE BOOKS AND DON’T WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS.

I think they will use the Ali’s twin storyline, but it won’t be as the books.

  • So Maya is confirmed dead? Awwww. I thought they left that ambiguous as to whether that body was for sure her.
