Lost's Yunjin Kim Finds Role on ABC's Mistresses

Lost alumna Yunjin Kim has landed a lead role on Mistresses, an ABC drama that was ordered to series last month and is on track for a summer 2013 bow.

Adapted from a BBC One series by Gossip Girl‘s KJ Steinberg and exec-produced by Revenge‘s Bob Sertner, Mistresses is described as a provocative drama that centers on four women balancing scandalous, complex love lives.

Kim will fill one of the lead roles — Karen, a psychiatrist who in the pilot is reeling from the death of a male patient with whom she was, um, particularly close.

Previously cast on Mistresses were Rochelle Aytes (The Forgotten) as April, a recent widow raising two daughters, and newcomer Jes Macallan as Josslyn, a real estate broker and unapologetically sensual woman.

The fourth female lead, Savannah (aka Savi), remains to be cast.

Also newly added to the series is onetime Vampire Diaries werewolf Erik Stocklin, playing the grown son of Karen’s recently deceased patient.

Is this a spin off/remake of the UK’s show Mistresses? Sounds similar.

  5. cj says:

i hope this doesn’t turn into a Charlie’s Angels where its supposed to be this great girl power show and then the actresses have absolutely no chemistry with one another. i would LOVE LOVE LOVE to see yunjin kim on tv again though FO SHO.

  6. YowzaPowza says:

Sounds interesting. I worry about the summer bow though. Summer shows nowadays never seem to really take off.

  7. Matthew Thomas says:

I’m not interested in this adaptation at all but Yunjin Kim will make it hard for me to resist.

  8. James says:

I read this article just to find out if it was a remake of the BBC series. It is. Mistresses, Skins, The Inbetweeners, Misfits, Only Fools and Horses, White Van Man. Why the need to remake wonderful British telly? Just air the originals. Is it because of the accents? Because I’m sure if the accents put off anyone, it would be a very small majority. Hasn’t hurt Doctor Who, Downton Abby, Sherlock, Upstairs, Downstairs, or even Harry Potter.

  9. tim says:

yeah, it sounds like a remake. yunjin got cast in the best part—i loved the actress who played her on the BBC version—she’s got alot to live up to.
