Pilot Castings: Scott Wolf Travels to Joey Dakota, Scott Bakula Joins Table for Three and More!

Get More: Casting News, Pilots

Scott WolfScott Wolf is time-traveling to The CW’s drama pilot Joey Dakota.

Also among the latest pilot castings: Chuck‘s dad joins a new family, a NYPD Blue star becomes a CIA operative, an Old Christine alum finds an Asset and more.

Dakota, a musical romance based on the Israeli format Danny Hollywood, features Amber Stevens (Greek) as Maya, a filmmaker making a documentary about rock star Joey Dakota (Legend of the Seeker‘s Craig Horner), who died in the 1990s. Maya miraculously travels back in time and falls in love with the musician only to be thrown back to the present day. She then struggles to find a way back to her love and to prevent his death.

Wolf — who starred on V, Everwood and Party of Five — provides a possible solution to Maya’s problem as a mysterious man who seems to know a lot about her situation and may have even done some time traveling himself.

In other pilot casting news from our sister site Deadline:

Scott Bakula (Chuck, Men of a Certain Age) has nabbed the lead role in the NBC comedy Table for Three (formerly Daddy’s Girls), playing a dentist who gets engaged to a much younger woman (played by Nicky Whelan), who also happens to be the high school “mean girl” classmate of his daughter (Christine Woods).

NYPD Blue alum Rick Schroder has been cast in Fox’s untitled Karyn Usher drama about an orphaned 14-year-old daughter of a CIA operative, played by Schroder.

• Hamish Linklater (The New Adventures of Old Christine) is in final negotiations to play the handler of Ali Larter’s CIA field operative in the Fox drama The Asset.

• Zak Orth (Nurse Jackie) has joined NBC’s J.J. Abrams/Eric Kripke drama Revolution as a brilliant scientist left in in a world where physics no longer follows the same rules.

  • Having never seen the Israeli origina, I wonder if Dakota uses the Somewhere in Time method of time travel.

  • It was so upsetting when Men of a Certain Age was canceled, so it’s wonderful to see that Scott Bakula has a pilot!!

  • Wait wait wait Nicky Whelan is playing the fiancee on Table for Three? Is it too much to hope for that she keeps her Aussie accent? Regardless, between her and Papa Bartowski, I’m there.

  • Well at least Joey Dakota has lots of pretty people on it. Sadly, still won’t make me watch. I’m rather disappointed in 99% of the upcoming pilot season.
