According to the fast nationals from Neilsen, the 84th Annual Academy Awards telecast averaged 39.3 million total viewers, up 4 percent versus last year’s tally. In the coveted 18-to-49 demo, the show held onto 100 percent of last year’s 11.7 rating.

With ABC’s broadcast rivals largely taking a knee opposite the big show, the Academy Awards outperformed CBS, NBC and Fox combined by 140 percent on average, in the metered markets.

Among the smattering of fresh network fare: The Amazing Race drew 7.6 million total viewers and a 2.1 demo rating, down 25 percent from its season opener, while The Increasingly Irrelevant Celebrity Apprentice (5 mil.1.8) plunged more than 30 percent from its own premiere to set a new all-time low.

    • LMAO ! Exactly Ed, everywhere Trump goes he says he has the highest rated Reality Show on TV.
      Maybe NBC will cancel him ,his hair and tell him to show his birth certificate and prove that he’s a US Citizen.

  • Amazing Race & Celebrity Apprentice will bounce back in ratings next week and I really don’t know how the debut of GCB is going to played out now that Pan Am is done for the season or perhaps the period drama may still end up as a “series finale”.
