The TVLine-Up: TV Worth Watching This Tuesday

Get More: Lists, Premieres, TVLine-Ups

On TV this Tuesday: NCIS gets an alt-reality check, ABC’s wild River starts flowing, a Parenthood couple engages in baby talk and more. On this very busy first Tuesday of sweeps, we’ve singled out 11 programs to keep on your radar.

8 pm NCIS (CBS) | Episode 200: When Gibbs finds himself staring down the barrel of a gun, it forces him to question choices he has made in the past and present. (Read our in-depth preview.)

8 pm Switched at Birth (ABC Family) | When Kathryn’s mother (Family Ties‘ Meredith Baxter) comes for a visit, it makes Bay and Daphne question their new roles in the family; Bay and Regina grow closer as they try to find out what happened to Angelo. (Get some scoop!)

8 pm Last Man Standing (ABC) | In the first of two new episodes, Vanessa and Mike discover that a woman who lived in their house over 100 years ago died upstairs. Then, Kim Kardashian guest-stars as herself. Oops, my bad, just one episode tonight.

Glee Preview: 10 Spoilery Highlights From ‘The Spanish Teacher’ With Ricky Martin

9 pm The River (ABC) | Two-hour premiere: Leslie Hope (24), Joe Anderson (Twilight: Breaking Dawn) and Paul Blackthorne (The Dresden Files) lead this thriller-chiller about a trip up the Amazon River to find a missing adventurer. Watch it with the lights off, I dare ya. (Read our review.)

9 pm NCIS: Los Angeles (CBS) | As Callen and Sam celebrate five years as partners (awww), they face one of their biggest challenges when they go undercover for a case. Me, I’m tuning in for guest star Alana de la Garza (Law & Order).

9 pm Ringer (The CW) | Juliet’s mother (Rescue Me’s Andrea Roth) arrives in town, where she proceeds to wreak havoc on Andrew and Bridget’s relationship.

9 pm New Girl (Fox) Jess goes against Nick’s wishes and makes it her mission to get their landlord (Sons of Anarchy mayor Jeff Kober) to like her, but in doing so inadvertently jeopardizes their living situation.

2012 Renewal Scorecard: What’s Coming Back? What’s Getting Axed? What’s on the Bubble?

10 pm Parenthood (NBC) | In an episode directed by Peter Krause, a friend’s engagement party stirs up baby talk for Sarah and Mark; Amber questions her qualifications when she receives a promotion; and Zoe’s behavior causes Julia and Joel to question their adoption agreement. (Watch a preview!)

10 pm Unforgettable (CBS) | Carrie is taunted by a serial killer who has knowledge of her mad memory skillz. Emmy winner Jane Curtin (Third Rock from the Sun) joins the cast as an M.E.

10 pm White Collar (USA Network) | Sara (played by Hilarie Burton) is back and she wants Neal — for business, and not so much for pleasure.

10 pm Justified (FX) | A prison escape puts Raylan on the trail of two old adversaries; Boyd confronts a traitor in his inner circle.

  • I will not waste 2 hours of my life on another crap Spielberg show (The River).

Comment by Velvet – February 7, 2012 09:44 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
    • I don’t think Spielberg’s apparently tangential involvement with the show is a reason to avoid it. I’m not saying it’s necessarily a “Must See,” but I doubt Spielberg has much to do with it either way–I think he’s lending his name for the prestige value more than genuinely steering all of the shows and movies that bear it lately.

Comment by CJ – February 7, 2012 11:44 AM PDT  Reply To This Post
      • Well, lending his name hasn’t turned out so hot.
