Dancing With the Stars: Did the Right Couple Get Booted This Week?

Conventional wisdom dictated that this week’s Dancing With the Stars eviction would come down an age-old question: Is it worse to experience a dancefloor disaster or to offer up a pre-performance package void of humor, cheekiness, and general-purpose good vibes?

Alas, though, while Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus paid the price and landed in the Bottom 2 for a wonky jive set to “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy were sent to safety despite an obvious dearth of chemistry that was punctuated by Maks’ verbally and physically rough treatment of Hope during rehearsals.

Here’s how the Halloween Week results played out:

Moment That Made Len and Bruno Bang the Judges’ Table With Delight
Derek Hough’s devastating Argentine Tango/Flamenco combo with So You Think You Can Dance’s sensational Allison Holker

Most Amusing Exchange
Carson (concluding a ridiculous results-night package): Back to you, Tom and… [uncomfortable pause]
Carrie Ann: Brooke.
Carson: Brooke!

Nooooooooooooooo! The jauntiest, campiest (and arguably the third-most-talented) couple in the competition finish in sixth place? Say it ain’t so!

“Sadness in the ballroom!” cooed Robo Brooke Burke, convincing absolutely no one that she had the ability to detect and process genuine human emotions.

“There must be a mistake, because this is my show!” joked David, offering what appeared to be a winking commentary on Maks’ “I made this show” outburst from last week. Later, getting more serious, the Scream star added, “I just love all the people I got to know and dance with. This production is top-notch. It’s been an amazing experience and I’m very grateful.”
