Exclusive: Jaime Ray Newman 'Collars' NCIS Role and Scares Up Grimm Gig

Fresh off her too-brief yet nonetheless touching CSI: NY appearance as Mac’s doomed wife, Jaime Ray Newman is bound for another CBS drama — NCIS.

NCIS Enlists Mad Men Minx to Play Gibbs’ Ex

The alumna of such shows as Eureka and Eastwick has landed a two-episode November sweeps arc on TV’s most-watched drama series as Melanie Burke, a Navy Lieutenant Commander who is a chaplain at the Navy Yard, TVLine has learned.

The first of Newman’s consecutive episodes airs Tuesday, Nov. 8, when Burke meets the NCIS team and starts to work closely with them on the investigation a military plane crash.

If perchance things don’t get particularly hairy for Newman as a woman of the cloth, there’s this: On or around the time she begins her NCIS run, the actress will also guest-star on an episode of NBC’s new supernatural drama, Grimm, which bows Friday, Oct. 28. There, she will play blutbad Angelina, one of the episode’s titular “Three Bad Wolves.”

Awesome! Love her. But the real question is–when is she going to guest star on Leverage again?

  2. Joe B. says:

Eventually every redhead in Hollywood will guest on NCIS. Gibbs loves him a little ginger.

  3. Vanny says:

Looking forward to it. Grown quite fond of her.

  4. tlbrownlie says:

  6. Terry says:

A really nice person & good actress. Meet her years ago when she was on General Hospital. She was a sweetheart, very gracious. Saw her sing to, great jazzy type of voice. I think it would be great if she landed a role on Pan Am, but it’ll probably get cancelled.

  7. Sue says:

Love her. She really needs to be given her own show.

  8. Nan says:

Can somebody explain how she died in CSI:NY? She was out of the WTC and on the street as the second plane hit, Mac told her to run and she started to walk away so how she end up dead?

  9. Jeri says:

She deserves her own show. I loved her in Eastwick and was bummed when they cancelled it.

  10. Lisa says:

NBC is going to have to move Grimm to another day. I refuse to give up Supernatural & Fringe for Grimm on Friday.
