With her much-hyped showdown with Diana Prince scrapped, Elizabeth Hurley is setting her sights on another formidable female: Gossip Girl!
The actress — who co-starred in NBC’s ill-fated Wonder Woman pilot as a nemesis to Adrianne Palicki’s title heroine — is joining the upcoming fifth season of Gossip Girl for a multi-episode arc, TVLine has learned exclusively.

According to exec producers Stephanie Savage and Joshua Safran, Hurley will play a character named, ironically enough, Diana Payne, “a sexy, smart, self-made media mogul and all-around force to be reckoned with. Diana’s entrance on the Upper East Side will change the lives of all our characters — including, and especially, Gossip Girl herself.
“Elizabeth’s sense of humor, intelligence and beauty fit the GG world perfectly,” the duo added. “We feel very fortunate to have her.”

I was excited when I read the article but its disappointing that you’re probably right :(
All of the guest stars end up being temporary love interests, temporary antagonists, or both. The writers have just given up at this point, haven’t they? Just compare the number of recurring guest stars from the first season with the last. I was hoping the new writers would have some fresh ideas that would actually be about the EXISTING characters.
My money is on her as a potential boss for Blair.
Love interest for either Nate or Chuck or both. Point.
So she’ll either sleep with one of the boys or try to stop Serena from advancing in her career. So exciting. Not.
I feel like I won’t watch this season until we get some good info on Chuck/Blair or Serena/Dan, because everything else is yawn-worthy at this point.
She’ll sleep with everyone..even Dorita.

An other guest star? SERIOUSLY? they pretty much dominated the show last year and eat up the mains screen time! Ugh. I guess those writers will never learn…
GG is not about Serena, Blair, Nate, Chuck, and the nobody anymore. GG is all about guest stars. I’m sure she’ll be Blair’s nemesis, all the while pretending to like Serena but is secretly plotting against her, sleeps with Chuck but Chuck sells her out, falls in love with Nate and then comes to her senses and realizes she needs someone to put her in the pedestal so she dumps Nate and goes to Brooklyn. Yawn. Next.
Omg this is a pretty good storyline, a storyline which involves all of them, getting schemed lol. Writers if your reading this do it for ether this season or next and with a different character or gossip girl herself. I can see it now a mysterious new comer sleeps with chuck be friends serena and then leaves chuck for nate and cheats on nate for dan and blair and this girl hate each other as Blair is still in love with chuck and is jealous and so on.
Even Gossip Girl?, really? will she find out who she is?

nice. i have been a fan of gossip girls since it started in fact even when i am on the road is still watch it through online tv tvhook.com. this would surely add new twist and color in the story. nice one!
the show got so bad i cant sit through another year of their childish plotting and hook ups with every guest star that is leaving soon after anyway
