Fall TV Preview

Exclusive: Sons Of Anarchy Recruits Pulp Film Badass Danny Trejo

Oh, this is a marriage made in a dark, gritty little corner of heaven, folks.

TVLine has learned exclusively that FX’s Sons Of Anarchy has booked film vet Danny Trejo — whose myriad credits include, to name but a few, Machete, From Dusk Till Dawn and The Devil’s Rejects — for a multi-episode Season 4 arc.

Matt’s Inside Line: Scoop on Sons Of Anarchy‘s New Season

Trejo will play Romero “Romeo” Parada, a charismatic and (duh) dangerous former commando for the Mexican military who becomes a new associate of the SONS.

Trejo popped up on the small screen just this past TV season, guesting on Fox’s Bones and ABC’s Modern Family (as a janitor with a crush on Claire).

Sons Of Anarchy‘s fourth cycle premieres in early September.

  • I thought the next season was suppose to focus more on the family politics and the direction of the club…It will be interesting to see how Danny fits into SAMCRO. He’ll probably give crap to Juice for not speaking spanish, lol

  • Awesome, awesome news. But, the casting I’m waiting to hear is of a certain “Deadwood” veteran, and “Sons” loves its “Deadwood” actors; how awesome would it be if they could get Ian McShane on a motorcycle? I can dream….

    • He would have been perfect for last season. Either part of the irish charter or even the IRA

  • kinda predictable, stunt-y and not at all outside the box. Hope this doesn’t suck as bad as those irish dudes last season

  • Whatever happened to the year round TV shows. “All in the family”, Jeffersons, The Cosby Show”, Gilligan’s Island, Brady Bunch…off in the summer and that is it. There is too much time in between cycles for the show!
    With that said… I can’t wait to see the excellent casting of Season 4…. The anticipation is {{CRAZY}}

  • Terrific casting choice but I assume his filming on SOA will not interfere with his recurring role on the Bones spinoff “Finder” which got greenlit for 13 episodes yesterday? His priest character was one of the better moments in the backdoor pilot from a few weeks ago.
