Your Honor to End With Season 2 on Showtime, Bryan Cranston Says
Your Honor won’t be bending the rule of law much longer. In a new interview, series star Bryan Cranston says Season 2 of the Showtime legal drama will be its last.
“I am [currently] preparing for the second and last season of Your Honor, which is a limited series that I did for Showtime,” Cranston said on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast. “As they tell me, it got higher ratings than any other series they’ve ever had — and so, one more season of that.” [pmc_inline_gallery]

Originally conceived as a limited series, Season 1 of Your Honor starred Cranston as Michael Desiato, a respected New Orleans judge whose teenage son, Adam (Truth Be Told‘s Hunter Doohan), was involved in a hit-and-run that led to “a high-stakes game of lies, deceit and impossible choices,” according to the official logline. The Season 1 finale aired in February 2021 (read our recap), while a Season 2 renewal followed in August.
Meanwhile, our sister site Deadline is reporting that Season 1 writer Joey Hartstone has been elevated to showrunner for Season 2, succeeding Peter Moffat.
In addition to Cranston, the Season 1 ensemble featured Michael Stuhlbarg (Call Me By Your Name), Hope Davis (Love Life), Carmen Ejogo (Selma), Isiah Whitlock Jr. (The Wire) and Sofia Black-D’Elia (Single Drunk Female). Guest stars included Maura Tierney (The Affair), Amy Landecker (Transparent), Margo Martindale (The Americans), Lorraine Toussaint (The Equalizer) and Keith Machekanyanga (The Rookie) — the latter of whom has been promoted to series regular for Season 2.
A premiere date for the 10-episode swan song has not yet been revealed.

What’s supposed to be a “miniseries” gets renewed for a second season anyway… the exact reason why I hate the term “limited series”.
I LOVED this drama. The writer/s are brilliant!! Could do without all the cussing though and would be just as good. Sure wish it was going to be more than 2 seasons! I’ve already watched season 1 twice and will watch it a 3rd time once the air date for season 2 is revealed. GREAT SHOW!!

Great show, I was completely enthralled by it. I can’t wait for season 2 to start!!! Crancston is a really great, underrated actor.
I would not call underrated an actor as busy as he is, and who has won multiple Emmys and Tonys.
He’s certainly an actor who deserved more in the way of big screen roles. I would go as far as to say he’s been overlooked there as a man of his talent would shine in any big budget Hollywood movie.
So come on already- waited long enough!

I thoroughly enjoyed Season 1 and now anxiously awaiting Season 2. Too bad it won’t be renewed once Season 2 ends.
Sad to hear only one more season is coming. It’s really good! We finally get to see behind scenes how white people get away with sh*t in the legal system, minorities continue to struggle with a knee on their necks.

I have to laugh at the people who say the writing on this show is excellent. The show is absolutely ridiculous, while being predictable. The only redeeming factor was its excellent cast.
Please please please do not end this series. It is by far the best series streaming and we have followed many, We know a lot of people who agree and will be devastated, as we are, for this to end after the second season. It has been left with many questions yet to be answered and a third season is highly anticipated to reach the conclusion. Please extend it to at least one more season!🙏
I totally agree, Your Honor season 2 had a rushed ending, leaving far too many unanswered questions! There needs to be a Season 3 to tie things up. I wanted to see Gina Baxter get her comeuppance. JUSTICE needs to be served to her for her Evilness!!! Jimmy Baxter needs REVENGE!!!
