The Ranch Gets Part 8 Premiere Date; Final 10 Episodes Drop in January
Netflix will officially foreclose on Iron River on Friday, Jan. 24. That’s when Ashton Kutcher’s The Ranch is set to return with its final 10 episodes, bringing the Colorado-set sitcom to a close. [pmc_inline_gallery]
Back in June, Netflix announced that The Ranch would end after Part 8. At 80 episodes, it becomes the streamer’s longest-running multi-camera comedy, surpassing Fuller House (which will end its fifth and final season with 75 episodes).
The Ranch first premiered in April 2016. The R-rated multi-cam centered on Colt Bennett (Kutcher), a former semi-pro football player who returned to his family’s Colorado ranch and attempted to restore his relationships with his older brother Rooster (That ’70s Show co-star Danny Masterson), his mom Maggie (Terms of Endearment‘s Debra Winger) and his tough-as-nails dad Beau (A Star Is Born‘s Sam Elliott). Along the way, Colt rekindled his relationship with high school sweetheart Abby (Happy Endings‘ Elisha Cuthbert), whom he eventually married.
Masterson was eventually fired by Netflix following multiple allegations of sexual assault. The character of Rooster was killed off in a brutal motorcycle accident that would dramatically alter the series in Part 6. He was essentially replaced by Kutcher’s former Punk’d cohort Dax Shepard, who came on board as estranged cousin Luke Matthews.
When we last left the Iron River Ranch, Abby alerted the Bennetts that Nick was back in town. Beau headed down to Nick’s trailer park with a gun, while Colt (who blames Nick for Rooster’s death) and Luke (who wants to protect Mary) not far behind. Then, in the very last scene, Nick entered his trailer to find an unwanted visitor. “What the f—k are you doing here?” he asked, before a gun was fired. Because the confrontation happened inside, it’s not clear who pulled the trigger, or whether Nick was actually shot.

There was so many more ways the ranch could’ve kept going, absolutely heartbroken you stopped this show, that’s bs.

Loved the show! Absolutely loved the father son relationship of Beau & Colt. Cried so much & laughed. Excellent writing & acting. Hated to see it end.

Honestly if this the final season, it should end with Danny coming back! Who cares about his past, Danny added a good horny character. It should be him keeping his family safe. Plus they can’t charge him with murder if they already thinks he’s dead! Am I right?!!

They have a whole season (or part 8) left… I think 10 episodes. It wouldn’t make sense to introduce Luke as Mary’s new hubby , if Rooster is coming back. It would be really awkward. I love “Rooster.” I tgink it was crappy to fire him, until he had proof that he committed any crimes.

Think Mary shot Nick; when she was at Luke’s cabin she took one of Rooster’s ” zombie apocalypse” guns.
I’d say that’s possible but don’t think it will be. If it was Mary, I don’t think Nick would’ve said “wtf you doing here”. If it’s not rooster, Beau, Colt or Luke it might be Heather. Can’t wait to find out.

I agree so upset. Best Netflix show. Bring it back. And bring back Rooster that’s the only reason Mary became a drug addict because of the guilt. So it won’t be awkward she married his long lost cousin.
Could of been Rooster, or Mary’s daughter or even someone he owed for drugs! Doesnt necessarily have to of been one of the Bennetts!! Love this show and hate to see it end…

I hope it turns out that Rooster was not actually dead and that he is the one that shot Nick. I’ve heard rumors online that Danny Masterson was being brought back for the final season. Maybe it’s just wishful thinking but my hope is “Rooster did it”. Netflix really should not be ending “The Ranch”. It’s a great show with an awesome cast. I love Debra and OMG Sam Elliott just gets hotter with every episode. I love the entire cast and I really hope that all of the powers that be will reconsider and keep this show going with many more seasons. Best cast ever!!

Best show I have seen in a very long time… Beau reminds me of my dad and how life brought my brother and I up. This show should never end. I am hoping rooster shot nick and I hope Beau walks up to find Nick deceased.
I think the writers left Masterson’s “death” mysterious for a reason. They knew that the allegations were just that-allegations. Sounds like they were hoping he would be acquitted of all charges. Plus, this happened almost 20 years ago when the guy was 17! In some states that’s considered a minor. I think people will look for dirt on anyone to get attention from the Media. Danny is coming back and Dax will also stay. Abby will come to her senses when she realizes she’s pregnant AGAIN. She’ll get a teaching job closer to home as head of the department- or even principal of the high school. Abbys mom will watch the baby full time and Colt and she will get back together: Beau will finally marry his lady. Colt and Rooster will get both Ranches b/c Newman’s Hill will get sued for illegally hoarding well water at the dividing line from it and other Ranches. Mike-dropped!

Bring Rooster back as the one who kills Nick! Masters has not be charged only accused and this day an works all it takes is an accusation and your Career is over. So much for his day in court and innocent until proven quirky. The networks are so afraid of demising their brand they fire before getting both sides of the story. In this case they are wrong. Sorely disappointed that the show will be coming to an end. We have enjoyed every single season and every single episode. I think this is some of Sam Elliott’s and Ashton Kutcher’s best work.
