The time for Red Table Talk is over — at least for now.
Facebook Watch is shutting down all of its original programming, which includes the Jada Pinkett Smith-hosted talk show, our sister site Variety reports. The show’s production company Westbrook Studios, founded by Pinkett Smith and her husband Will Smith, is reportedly looking for a new distributor for the series, which features Pinkett Smith in conversation with her daughter Willow Smith and her mother Adrienne Banfield-Norris as well as special guests. The show played host to an explosive discussion between Jada and Will in 2020 where the two detailed their marital difficulties as well as Pinkett Smith’s “entanglement” with singer August Alsina.
Red Table Talk was one of only a handful of original programs still airing on Facebook Watch, but the service once had ambitions to be a major player in the world of streaming content, with buzzy scripted series like Sorry For Your Loss, starring Elizabeth Olsen as a grieving widow, and the mystery Limetown, starring Jessica Biel. Both shows were axed in January 2020 as Facebook Watch moved away from scripted programming to focus on reality series like a reboot of The Real World and the Tom Brady docuseries Tom vs. Time.
Will you follow Red Table Talk to a new service? And will you miss Facebook Watch? Tell us in the comments.
Im sure the “slap incident” didnt do her any favors!
Read the actual thing….it’s been over a year get over it
Is that u Jada?
So the timeline is now is a year to “get over things” when bad people do bad things?
Good to know!
For THIS bad thing yes. He embarrassed himself and his family then disrespected his peers, Will is aware. What else do u want him to do?
He slapped someone on TV, there are so many different things that have happened since then. And most of all, it literally didn’t happen to you. So, get over it. If you’re gonna judge someone on the worst thing he’s done in public that’s says a lot more about you than him.
He could go away. That would be great.
you racists could go away, too.
Dude. Life goes on. He slapped someone. He faced the consequences and he got banned from academy for ten years.
It was bad and super embarrassing. And while I believe the Academy didn’t deal with it appropriately at the actual time, it’s been dealt with and reported to nauseum. Seriously the only person who should be upset is Chris Rock and he’s just fine.
ah yes, the old blame the woman for her husband’s mistakes angle.
Sorry for Your Loss was really good, especially the first season. Think it would have had a much bigger audience on a different platform.
I agree. Limetown was pretty good too.
The show was very condescendingly ethnocentric I’m glad it’s gone.
I haven’t watched 1 single Facebook series
Too late, already broke Will Smith. 🤣
I actually liked this show and it’s format. Jada got more preachy over the course of the show, which was annoying, she started out ok. But I liked her mother and Willow. They had good guests too. That interview Jada and Will did over her “entanglement” was the last one I watched. It was just too much, he was so angry and she just came off so smug, not taking responsibility. I realize he was of age, but if it were Will who had an affair with one of Willows friends, who was having mental health struggles and using drugs? The press would have eaten him alive, but somehow because shes a woman Jada skated on that? Double standard.
Whatever will she do without a platform to humiliate her husband?!?! Good riddance. Smug trash.
Let that trashy show die. !
👏👏👏👏
Goodbye
and good riddance!
💃🥂
Good riddance. Jada is a vile, toxic woman.
