Wrestler Trinity Fatu (Formerly Naomi) Confirms Departure From WWE
If you were hoping to see Naomi back on WWE television, you’re going to be very disappointed.
Trinity Fatu, who wrestled under the name Naomi, confirmed Thursday on Instagram that she is no longer with the company. When asked if she was still with the WWE, she replied, “No frien.'”
The former SmackDown Women’s Champion and Women’s Tag Team Champion has not been featured on WWE programming since walking out with partner Mercedes Varnado (formerly Sasha Banks) on a live taping of Monday Night Raw last May.
The pair were suspended indefinitely, and veteran announcer Michael Cole revealed that there would be a tournament to crown the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions on Friday Night Smackdown. Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah defeated Damage CTRL (Dakota Kai and IYO SKY) on the Aug. 29 edition of Raw to become the new champs. Currently, Becky Lynch and Lita are the reigning champions. Varnado, meanwhile, is the reigning IWGP Women’s Champion and wrestles under the name Mercedes Moné.
PWI first reported back in May that Varnado took issue with the outcome of a planned main event, which would have featured her and Fatu in a Six-Pack Challenge alongside Asuka, Becky Lynch, Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H. to determine who would face Bianca Belair at “Hell in a Cell.” Varnado reportedly met with then-CEO Vince McMahon to express her concerns, and McMahon is said to have refused to change his plans for the team. She subsequently left the building with Fatu.
WWE’s official statement alleged that Fatu and Varnado met with former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis “with their suitcases in hand, placed their tag team championship belts on his desk, and walked out.” (Note: Laurinaitis is no longer with the WWE following an investigation into allegations of misconduct.)

I would not trust anyone during Wrestlemania season, as the nights after Wrestlemania always include big surprise returns. while she may not be with the company at the moment, anything is possible in the next few weeks. I do believe we will see her again in a wwe ring, her family is there.
I read somewhere she had shoulder surgery not too long ago, plus Jimmy is still there so likely her contract ran out and she was just waiting to be fully recovered before resigning.
Why do we keep calling them “Wrestlers”? Do they actually compete in actual Proper Wrestling Competitions (i.e. Olympics style)? If not, they should just be called Performers.
Also another point about these so-called “warriors” how come they don’t go all out when they’re in the ring? If they really want to sell this then go all out and really mean all the “stunts”, punches, kicks, and slams. If they can’t win, they better be leaving the ring in a stretcher or a wheelchair with the help of Medical Professionals. The Winners keep their Jobs, the losers get replaced by newbies. THAT’s how it should be to be the spiritual successors to the Ancient Roman Gladiators of old.

You are completely clueless. These men and women are both athletes and performers. While the result is predetermined, there is a lot of physicality. As with other athletes, they suffer plenty of injuries.

Those two don’t belong in the WWE. They were WWE tag team championship. Because of that they were receiving a high pay raise just like any other champion. Because they were tag team champs doesn’t mean that they can choose 100% the route they want their character to go. They were all butthurt about it. Not only that they insulted the sport and the WWE company by abandoning the belts. Indefinite suspension was the rightful solution. So sorry not sorry

I miss those two. they are top tier talent. The talent wants to be heard because they have something to contribute. We all want to feel like we belong. The “my way or the highway” BS will only continue to push creative people away.
