The White Lotus: 11 Questions We Need To See Answered In The Season 2 Finale

Warning: This post contains spoilers for the first six episodes of The White Lotus Season 2.

Our stay at The White Lotus is almost over — and we still have a lot of questions that haven't been answered.

HBO's wicked social satire does an excellent job of weaving in a number of compelling mysteries among all the uncomfortable laughs. Some are quite literally life-and-death, and some are just amusing little things to ponder while we enjoy the Italian scenery. This Sunday marks the Season 2 finale, though, so series creator Mike White needs to hurry up and wrap up quite a few loose ends before the credits roll.

To help pass the agonizing wait until Sunday's finale (9/8c), we thought we'd lay out all the unanswered questions that we're still mulling over as we head into Season 2's swan song. After all, nearly every hotel guest has at least one unresolved issue still lingering, and we're trying to get to the bottom of all of them. So read on as we list off the burning questions that we're hoping to see answered in this week's season finale — and then hit the comments to let us know if we missed any big ones. (Think of it as our own little lost and found.)

We've already written about this one in detail — you can still vote in our poll! — but we're eager to find out whose dead bodies were bobbing up and down in the water when Daphne went for a swim in that season-opening flash-forward. With all the simmering conflicts brewing throughout the hotel, it could be just about anyone at this point.

The penultimate episode ended on a shocker, with Tanya spotting a photo of what looked like a young Quentin... with Tanya's own husband Greg, wearing a cowboy hat. (Quentin did say he once fell in love with an American cowboy.) So has Quentin been pulling a con job on her this whole time? With Greg's help? Greg did conveniently disappear for a few days, just as Quentin materialized, and we know Quentin isn't as rich as he appears (and hasn't been completely honest, either). The tryst with Niccolo that Quentin set up for Tanya could be an effort to blackmail her into forking over big bucks and ending her marriage to Greg. We need answers!

Another possible con job is brewing with Dom's naïve son Albie, who seems to be falling in love with local escort Lucia. She's been telling him about a man named Alessio who might hurt her if she doesn't pay up — but is this all just an act to squeeze some fast cash out of a rich American kid? (She didn't seem to have any man bossing her around when we met her.) We also have our doubts that Lucia has genuine feelings for Albie, beyond their nightly transactions.

Quentin introduced cocky young Essex boy Jack as his "nephew," but as Tanya observed in graphic detail, they've done some things together that uncles and nephews just don't do. It also seems like Jack is intentionally keeping Portia away from Tanya, doesn't it? She's already starting to lose her crush on Jack, but will she ever discover what's really up with his special relationship with Uncle Quentin?

Ethan certainly wants to know the answer to this question, since he's been boiling over with jealousy since he began to suspect his wife Harper snuck off for a romp with his frenemy Cameron. (She's still fuming over the wild night Ethan had with Cameron while she and Daphne were gone.) We don't think Harper would sleep with Cameron just to get back at Ethan... but we know their sex life isn't great, and she has been thinking of a way to get even. The lesson, as always: Don't cross Aubrey Plaza.

We're starting to suspect that the douche-y rich guy isn't as rich as he appears. He was pestering Ethan to invest his newfound wealth with him, and he keeps stalling on paying Lucia the money he owes her for their night together. If he has the money, why wouldn't he just pay her to get rid of her? We've got a feeling Cameron might not have enough cash on hand to pay for a ride to the airport at this point.

As we tried to unravel the mystery of who's dead in the flash-forward, we were a bit confused: Why aren't Cameron, Ethan and Harper with Daphne on the beach? The four have done everything together so far on the trip, so it's odd to see Daphne sunning herself solo. Maybe some kind of climactic fight breaks the foursome apart? Maybe even a fight that ends with one or more of them dead in the water?

Mia used her feminine wiles to get a spot playing piano at the hotel bar while Giuseppe's out, paying Valentina back with a night of passion in a hotel suite. Valentina is just getting used to the idea of being with a woman, but is she trading her affection for Isabella for Mia? And is Mia just using Valentina to get what she wants? This can't end well, can it?

Alright, he was a little sleazy, but still, the guy didn't deserve to be drugged with a mystery pill and then lose his gig while he's in the hospital recovering. Will he be upset when he sees that Mia swooped in and stole his seat at the piano? Or just upset that they never got to finish the deed?

Setting aside those dead bodies floating in the sea, we're a little worried about Bert. He's not exactly the picture of health, and now he's heartbroken after being soundly rejected by his distant relatives. Could the old guy's heart give out before he's able to leave Sicily?

The poor guy got exiled to the beach club for the crime of chatting up his girlfriend (and now fiancée) Isabella, but his replacement Salvatore was even more distracting. Now that Valentina is occupied with Mia, maybe she'll let the two lovebirds reunite at the front desk? C'mon, we need at least one happy ending here.
