The Crown's Elizabeth Tearfully Contemplates The 'End Of An Era' In Trailer For Final Episodes — Watch
The Crown may not ask existential questions of itself, as a character points out in the newly released trailer for the show's final episodes, but, um, has anyone mentioned that to Elizabeth?
"What about the life I put aside, the woman I put aside when I became queen?" the monarch tearfully wonders in the promo above, which Netflix released Friday.
The Emmy-winning drama's last six episodes begin streaming Thursday, Dec. 14. The eps, which take place after a time-jump, find William and Harry — now played by Ed McVey and Luther Ford — becoming young men and processing the tragic death of their mom Diana.
Per Season 6, Part 2's official synopsis: "Prince William tries to integrate back into life at Eton in the wake of his mother's death as the monarchy has to ride the wave of public opinion," per the synopsis. Plus, "as she reaches her Golden Jubilee, the Queen reflects on the future of the monarchy with the marriage of Charles and Camilla and the beginnings of a new Royal fairy tale in William and Kate."
Imelda Staunton and Jonathan Pryce return as Elizabeth and her husband Prince Philip, with Dominic West as Elizabeth's eldest son Prince Charles and Lesley Manville as Elizabeth's sister Princess Margaret.
