Is anyone at NBC having second thoughts about “saving” Magnum P.I.? Numbers have not been good for the current season. –Jim
Along those lines, I asked Jeff Bader, President of Entertainment Program Planning Strategy for NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, if Magnum might score a more favorable time slot when it returns, having thus far led out of allll manner of reruns on Sunday night. Bader said that when it comes to ratings, “Everything’s relative,” meaning “for us it was [pulling] a good number” on Sundays. I then noted that Season 5A, which averaged 5 million viewers (with delayed playback), was down more than 30% from its Season 4 numbers on CBS, where it aired Fridays at 9. (It’s also down 43% in the demo.) “CBS does have a much broader audience, because of the older audience that they get,” Bader noted. As for any time slot change, “We have not yet locked in our midseason schedule… but we would love to grow that show,” Bader affirmed. “We’re with you that the show should be bigger than it is. It’s a great asset for us.”
Any word on what NBC’s new, midseason America’s Got Talent show is about? –Jeremy
I asked NBCUniversal exec Jeff Bader about that, and he said, “Every January we come on with some sort of a ‘best of’ [edition] — all-stars, champions — so it’s going to be another incarnation like that.”
There seems to be a “holey” in ABC’s summer schedule, as I haven’t read a word about a possible fifth season of Holey Moley. Any word one way or the other? –Louis
I am hearing that there soon will be news… one way or the other.

Interesting that the CW cancelled a game show that I didn’t even know was on the CW. Did anybody know about it besides the people who work at TVLine?
I knew about it and watched it too! It ran on Saturdays last year. I thought it was funny, but It was the CW, so I didn’t hold out hope that it was going to be renewed
Not sure why writers always have to throw meaningless plots into a show i.e. Fire Country with the sleeper storyline and now the supposedly positive drug test potentially keeping Bode from making parole. Isn’t the backdrop of the fires enough drama…stupid imo
Agree. I think they are already looking for story lines. Seem to be doing lots of do overs, and everyone knows that Brody did not take drugs. How predictable was this? Can’t imagine how a second season will be any different than the first.
How else are they going to keep Brodie incarcerated but keep him at Third Rock? It’s the plot of the show. And that guy Stinger or whatever his name was said he wasn’t done with him.
The only thing I can see possibly happening is Bode taking the commander position but that would mean losing Manny so I don’t know. Like my sister says, Fire Country is nothing without Third Rock so where is this going??? Why did they come up with Bode possibly getting paroled so early. Maybe should have just left it alone and done this in season two or even three.
Unless they kill off Manny. Kevin Alejandro hasn’t had the best luck with shows he was previously on. LOL
This is one of the most poorly written shows on tv. And acted. Im literally hate watching at this point.
Agreed!1
NCIS LA: I can definitely see Hetty planning 1 last big party for the team after the wedding counting as a big surprise! 🥳
And oh man, I’m already thinking Hetty and Callen will possibly share an emotional moment and I’m already feeling emotional inside! 😭
NCIS, LA was once one of my favorite shows but the last 3 years I can’t even watch it. It has lost its glow especially with the storyline of ANA. Callen’s whole character changed and not for the better!
I feel the same way about DENSI. OMG, talk about a soap opera! I’m so tired of their personal problems & silly conversations. Deeks is in his 40s & acts like he’s in college. Grow up, man! There hasn’t been nearly enough of Callen to keep me interested & Gemmill kept him stuck in his past. I’d much rather have seen him move forward with Anna than still searching for answers. His questions had all been pretty much answered by the end of season 7. Gemmill ruined the show.
I found the procedural storylines in most of the seasons did more harm to my interest in watching than anything else. At the end they started to feel like you said a soap opera. From the mole inside NCIS, to the storylines when Daniela Ruah was on maternity leave, to even a lot of the arcs around Callen’s past which I thought was handled properly and concluded when they went to Romania.
I lost interest when they bought the bar.
I find myself, every episode, yelling at the TV during the fire scenes on Fire Country. These people are constantly arguing over their personal issues while working to avoid a catastrophe during a fire. Come on, personal drama aside for 5 minutes please, lmao!! But the drug test was a shocker, we know he was set up.
Yes, let Kyle and Gabriela ride off into the sunset together and leave Bode alone. She’ll use the drug test as an excuse to say “See, you don’t care about me after all.” Kyle will be her 3rd boyfriend in one season. She’s flaky.
Do you know what happened to Mysteries Decoded on the CW? It was supposed to start in April

They ended up bumping it to summer. I don’t think it has an official premiere date but it was included in the same release that announced the returns of Bump, Family Law, and The Great Chocolate Showdown and acquisitions of Run the Burbs, Moonshine, and Down to Earth with Zac Efron. Also cooking show (not sure if original or acquired) Recipe for Disaster and a documentary they are splitting into a four-part series, Greatest Geek Year Ever: 1982. Hopefully they announce some premiere dates for summer soon.
*Beyond the already announced premiere dates for Nancy Drew, The Rising and Barons, I mean. Son of a Critch was also announced but not scheduled.
Not sure Housebroken will air May 28 due to the Coca Cola 600 as it’s scheduled to air on FOX.
Other than that, good scoop.
On the Flash, how could it possibly be Nora? Nora is one combination of genetic material under very specific conditions. A different set of biological material from both parents should result a very different child (maybe even a boy.)
These shows don’t actually follow logical science. Of course realistically it wouldn’t be Nora.
To quote Philip J. Fry – “Magic. Got it.”
It sounds like NBC has faith that Magnum P.I. can grow. Let’s face it, it faced tough competition during the first part of Season 5. Yet, it remained steady in viewership. Here’s hoping they’re not willing to throw in the towel just yet because it’s a good series with a strong, diverse cast.
What show runner would have a guest actor play an important role in the series finale? Gemmill, natch. Instead of having Callen & Sam, partners for 10+ years whose job is to work undercover, go on one last assignment together, Gemmill pairs Sam up with Nina Barnes, a nothing character who started appearing last season. Such a bonehead move, but pretty predictable. For some reason, Gemmill never did let Callen do much of anything in the field (his last real undercover assignment–where he worked a case & not as Sam’s sidekick or for 5 minutes–was Crazy Train).
This comment will not age well.

Well you really have a lot of positive things to say about the show don’t you SMH
I bet Iris’s baby isn’t going to be Nora — it’s going to be two babies — the Tornado Twins, Don and Dawn. And Nora and Bart will be Barry and Iris’s grandkids (through Don and Dawn, respectively).
Then they wouldn’t be Nora and Bart if they were their grandkids. Could mean after the Tornado Twins they have more kids Nora then Bart?
It would be an alternate timeline, so Nora and Bart could still be the grandkids. It’s Multiverse logic, where dopplegangers can exist down the generations and where Superman & Lois can have boys in one universe and girls in another. Barry and Iris having the Tornado Twins and then the twins having Nora and Bart would be another timeline being created. Especially since Nora had already wiped herself out of existence once.
That would be more accurate to the comics, as Bart is Barry’s grandson there, not son.
Are we going to be honored with a visit from Sisco before The Flash ends? I’d like to know.
Totally upset with the cancellation of Big Sky, Alaska, and The Company You Keep !!! Why cancel enjoyable shows and keep bad ones ???
Because the bad shows are cheaper, unfortunately.
Is Walker coming back in the fall?
Look forward to Holey Miley every year. Bring it back!
Love NCIA LA, Magnum PI and Fire Country. Please keep them on. They are great
Do
Magnum PI i a good show. The cast and stories are excellent. Had a hard time finding out it as on Sunday.
Need more episodes in each season to create a routine of dedicated watchers each week.
I lso watch reruns of older shows on the CW network.
Watching TV has changed for sure, with all the cancelations the past few years. Fire Country is not very well written or acted. Not a fan at all. I love the characters but not how they’ve been used in the plots and storyline.
The CW has not been kind to the long running or popular series. I’m disappointed they’ve renewed Walker for only 13 episodes, which could mean, it might be it’s last season. Heartbroken over the cancelation of Independence. Gotham Knights has grown on me, but realize it’s probably a one and done situation.
FBI International is my current favorite, hopefully they keep it around for a while.
For those of you who haven’t watched The Hallmark Channels, new series “Ride” I recommend it. It’s not bad.
I really enjoy Holey Moley. I look forward to it every year. It’s a lot of fun so I really hope they bring it back this year as well.
Hard to believe this is the last batch of NCIS: LA spoilers we’ll see. And we got 3 of them! Thanks for always sharing tidbits over the years, Matt!
Will Netflix or Hulu be kicking up NCIS LA
Does anyone know if Netflix or Hulu will. Pick up NCIS LA
It’s very cancelled/over.
What ever happened to the NCIS:LA goodbye special we were promised?
