Golden Globe Winners: The Crown, Schitt's Creek And Queen's Gambit Lead TV Pack; Ted Lasso Scores First Win
The winners of the 2021 Golden Globe Awards were announced on Sunday night via a bi-coastal NBC broadcast hosted by Amy Poehler (at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills) and Tina Fey (at New York City's Rainbow Room). (Grade the ladies' opening monologue here.)
Netflix's The Crown went into into this year's ceremony leading the TV pack with six total nominations, and wound up converting on four of them. Netflix's The Queen's Gambit and the final season of Pop TV's Schitt's Creek followed with two wins each.
By outlet, Netflix led with six total wins, followed by Pop TV's two. Apple TV+, HBO and Amazon scored one each.
Sitcom titan Norman Lear was honored with this year's Carol Burnett Award, while Jane Fonda was the latest recipient of filmdom's Cecil B. DeMille Award.
