This Is Us Season 4: Who's New?

The first This Is Us Season 4 trailer that dropped Saturday (WATCH HERE) doubled as a major casting announcement, as the promo heralded the arrival of nearly a dozen new actors/actresses to the series. In addition to the previously announced Jennifer Morrison, the list of This Is Us rookies also now includes Morrison's former House co-star Omar Epps, as well as Psych's Timothy Omundson, Revenge's Nick Wechsler and filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan. But who are they all playing? NBC isn't saying, but the trailer offered enough clues for us to cobble together some theories.

Character Theory: Rounding out the Philly neighbor conceit, the When They See Us actor could be playing the son of Epps and Blake's characters. And who's that sitting behind him on the bleachers... ?

Auden Thornton

Character Theory: Her name tag reads "Lucy." And she's obviously a waitress. The dude sitting across from her doesn't resemble any of our regulars so... we've got nada.

Bahara Golestani

Character Theory: Perhaps Jennifer Morrison's soldier (pictured) forms a bond with a woman she meets during one of her tours of duty?

Character Theory: We're sticking with our initial gut instinct: The Once Upon a Time MVP is Kevin's eventual love interest/baby mama.

Julian Silva

Character Theory: ... It's the kid from Queen of the South! He's gotta be playing Blackk's schoolmate and/or bestie.

M. Night Shyamalan

Character Theory: This one's easy. Kevin's starring in a new blockbuster and the Sixth Sense auteur is the project's director. 

Marsha Stephanie Blake

Character Theory: And the Emmy-nominated When They See Us star is the matriarch of said family living next door to Beth and Randall?

Nick Wechsler

Character Theory: Is that Jennifer Morrison he's hugging? If so, then conventional wisdom points to the Revenge alum being her hubby.

Omar Epps

Character Theory: We already know that the Philadelphia neighborhood Beth and Randall are moving into is predominantly African-American, so perhaps the ex-House doc is the patriarch of the family living next door to them?

Timothy Omundson

Character Theory: Our money is on the Pysch star being Rebecca's father.
