The View Eyeing Former Trump Staffer Alyssa Farah Griffin to Fill Conservative Co-Host Slot [Report]
A former member of president Donald Trump’s White House staff is close to nabbing a seat at The View‘s table, per our sister site Variety.
Alyssa Farah Griffin, Trump’s former communications director, reportedly is nearing a deal that will make her a permanent co-host on ABC’s daytime talk show when Season 26 gets going in the fall.
“We do not have a co-host announcement to make at this time. Stay tuned,” an ABC spokesperson tells TVLine.
Farah Griffin was a frequent fill-in host in on The View in Season 25. She brought a conservative viewpoint to the conversation, filling the role previously held by former co-hosts Meghan McCain and Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Variety reports that Farah Griffin’s deal is not closed yet, but it’s a close thing.
If/when Farah Griffin becomes a permanent View co-host, she’ll discuss the show’s signature Hot Topics along with Sara Haines, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin and Whoopi Goldberg. Ana Navarro also is a part-time host who auditioned for the full-time spot.
In addition to working for Trump, Farah Griffin was press secretary for former vice president Mike Pence, later becoming press secretary for the United States Department of Defense. Her tenure with Trump lasted about eight months. She also has worked as a CNN contributor, discussing politics.

Very easy to see this one coming – she gets along with the others even with a different view point. So refreshing after hissy-fit queen Megan “do you know who my father was” McCain.

I wish they would of hired Lindsey Granger instead. She’s so much better than Alyssa. I’m getting a feeling she’s going to be another Abby Huntsman, and get clobbered by the other women.

I watch every day. She has been my favorite since her first appearances. She isn’t afraid to go against the women in a respectful way. She also is younger. So, she checks multiple boxes. I like her!
I was always under the impression Ana didn’t want to join the panel full-time. I don’t understand why they wouldn’t give the seat to her if she wants it. Personally, I was kinda digging the weekly switch off between Alyssa and Lindsey Granger, but that was because was didn’t have Ana full-time and Tara Setmeyor didn’t seem to be auditioning for the full-time seat either

Nooo, not her. So disappointed!! She is too soft and can’t stand up to Sunny the pit bull who interrupts everyone in that seat. Also, I’m tired of her short skirts with the left leg crossed over (of course!) showing off her skinny thigh. Ugh. Why not Anna full time? Everyone loves her. I also really like Tara Setmayer. She takes no B.S. from any of them!!
Tara OR Lindsay Granger are so much better for the role. More mature ladies with a real point of view.
I think she’ll be a great addition. She gets her point across and is pleasant while doing so. She can definitely hold her own against some strong personalities. I wonder if she will still do her CNN commentary as well?
Ana’s personal life is anchored in Miami and her husband would never relocate to NYC. She’s enormously popular with the viewers and her coworkers but part time suits her fine. I always enjoy the shows without any Trump adjacents on there. I grit my teeth at everything Alyssa Farah Griffin says so – not in the least pleased if she joins The View permanently. Sigh.
I think you should choose Ana Navarro. Please change your pick to Ana. She’s a much better fit for the show. She’s also funny like Joy. That always makes for a good show. Alyssa’s boring compared to Ana. Pllease choose Ana Navarro.
I like her. She is very intelligent and is sensible when she speaks. She doesn’t say stupid things off the cuff like Joy does. I think Farah looks at both sides of an issue and isn’t totally one sided on topics. She would make a good co-host
I am sorry to say I can NO LONGER WATCH a show I enjoyed. I don’t always agree with the cohost of the view but I respect them and their rights to have an opinion. But making your choice of hiring Griffin after she worked for administration knowingly they were doing wrong. Your choice! My choice is to never watch the show while you have trump support on your panel.
All I can say for this woman is RUN!! If you have any self respect, do not take this job. If you do, all that will happen is that the other women will bully/beat it out of you until you finally give up and leave. They claim this show is about women giving differing opinions, but that’s almost never been true from day 1.

I prefer the rotating guest co-host for the conservative seat.
It really should be Lindsey Granger.
She’s the only one of the rotating conservative seats who consistently presents a strong opposing view with a strong voice. Maybe they want to appeal to white conservatives and MAGAs more by going with Griffin, but I really think it’s a much better show with superior debates when Lindsey is at the table. The proof is in the pudding whenever she’s there. When she’s not, the show often feels like an echo chamber, which is neither engaging, nor helpful.
It’s like they just for the Abby Huntsman clone. Meh.
What about Anna?
It doesn’t matter who they hire for the conservative seat. The others, especially Behar, will drive any person away. The biggest thing any conservative appearing on the show needs to do is distance herself from the tRump shenanigans. He’s toxic. Just be a true conservative, not a phony tRumpster.

I prefer Ana Navarro. She is intelligent and can look at both sides of any situation without prejudice. Love you Ana. I will boycott the show (as much as I love it) if she isn’t a permanent host.
