Debra Winger Hints at Ranch Season 4 Renewal — And Her Possible Exit
Last call at Maggie’s? Debra Winger, who plays the Bennett family matriarch on The Ranch, may be leaving the Netflix comedy ahead of Season 4.
During an appearance on Tuesday’s Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen after-show, the Academy Award-nominated actress hinted that her days on the Ashton Kutcher sitcom were numbered. She also indicated that show has been renewed for a fourth season (aka Parts 7 and 8).
“It’s back,” she said when asked if the show was returning. “There are 20 new ones being shot. I may or may not be in them.”
Though credited on every episode as a series regular, Winger has typically only appeared in half of every season, with the character frequently leaving town and handing the keys to her bar over to son Rooster. This, of course, won’t be an option moving forward, seeing as Rooster’s portrayer, Danny Masterson, was fired by Netflix last December following multiple rape accusations. Masterson made his final appearance in last June’s Part 5 finale, in which Rooster was held at gunpoint by ex-con Nick, who told him to take his belongings and disappear… or else. A premiere date for Part 6 (aka the back half of Season 3) has not yet been announced.
If Winger is indeed out at The Ranch, that leaves the Netflix comedy with just two original series regulars: Kutcher (who plays Colt) and Sam Elliott (Beau). Elisha Cuthbert, who plays Colt’s wife Abby, wasn’t promoted to series regular until Season 2.
In addition to her role on The Ranch, Winger stars in Season 2 of the Amazon series Patriot (releasing on Friday, Nov. 9).

I’d hate to see Debra Winger leave the show, her character helps keep Sam elliott’s character anchored.
I disagree. I think there is nothing about the way Wingers portrays Maggie makes me wonder how she keeps Beau’s attention. Too. too subdued, too
blah and except for a scene with Eliot where she shows him he can still dance, I do not see any chemistry between them at all.
I miss Rooster already now Maggie might be leaving im heart broken. Love the show we even named 3 kittens Abby Rooster and Colt they act a lot like them on the show which is pretty funny.
Getting rid of rooster just because a bunch of jealous women who say they were raped a million years ago really cant believe women after 21 arent capable of reporting a bad date at time and age it happened just saying he shouldn’t be punished until proven guilty and getting rid of debra winger another bad choice finally get a great show and mess it up over conartist looking for a free ride so sad

The chick showed up at a Netflix employees sons baseball game and harrassed him about it, she also wrote an article about Netflix refusing to fire him They probably only fired him because she wouldn’t leave them alone.

BRING BACK ROOSTER!!!!! The chemistry between Kutcher and Masterson is amazingly entertaining. Since Rooster has left the show , it has not been the same. The show has lost the comedic essence, the rest of the cast is good but lack the comedic chemistry to carry the show. Again BRING BACK ROOSTER!
Bring back Rooster without him beside Colt the show has lost its laughter and now all we see is serious and tear jerking moments, even the jokes aren’t funny anymore. I just mentioned to my husband the last show we saw Maggie on and she didn’t play the parts like she used too and you knew something was up. Was it the fact she probably knew it was done for her? I don’t know but you need to bring the person that helped make the show as it once was, Rooster!! It will never be the same without him.
I think that whoever picks out the actors and actresses is wonderful at picking so just everyone please just chill out and at the right time I’m sure the entire cast will be terrific. So what if Rooster isn’t coming back cause he was fired from Netflix . I don’t know whats coming but I know it will be wonderful.
I totally agree. The show has been great ! So why look for complaints. This show has given me hours of entertainment and I’m sure it will continue to.

Debra Winger is too good an actress for the Ranch. I hope she does leave it a part of her past. Sad to see Sam Elliot involved in it.
Miss Rooster, get him back Maggie leaving won’t be a huge change, and I hope Colt grows up, still very immature, as of now got rid of wrong brother.

I’m a big fan of Ashton Kutcher, but if the ranch don’t bring back Danny Mathers, it won’t be worth watching
This Show has been one of the best comedy series we have Ever Watched! Loved it. We were absolutely hooked. With Masterson gone it’s just not the same great show. He brings half the Humor to the show. Not so sure we will continue to watch. So sad.
When is it going to return? Let Rooster come back.

The Ranch turn into a soap opera. It was funny. Think Abby and Colt should put difference aside. Raise their baby.

Would love to have Rooster come back. I absolutely love this show. It could do without everyone saying the F..k word all the time or at all. It’s just not needed. Too good of a show for all the cussing.
