We have our first look at Disney+’s Ahsoka, and it features many familiar characters.
Series creator Dave Filoni and executive producer Jon Favreau unveiled the trailer Friday at Star Wars Celebration in London, and it gives us a first good look at Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Society) as Sabine Wren, offers a first glimpse of Grand Admiral Thrawn, and confirms that Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Fargo) is playing Twi’lek rebellion member Hera Syndulla.
You can also spy Genevieve O’Reilly (Rogue One, Andor) again reprising her role of Mon Mothma, while Ray Stevenson (Black Sails, Star Wars Rebels) looms large as a lightsaber-wielding adversary named Baylan Skoll.
It was also revealed at Star Wars Celebration that Ahsoka will premiere this August (exact date TBA).
Starring Rosario Dawson in the title role. Ahsoka is “set after the fall of the Empire, and follows the former Jedi knight as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy,” according to the official logline.

It’s looking like a sci-fi summer, what with this, Marvel’s Secret Invasion and Star Trek’s Strange New Worlds. Can’t wait.
This looks great! Very excited!
So glad they are expanding this character. I loved the younger animated character but never expected her to get a live action series of her own.
I just watched/finish watching Rebels (for the first time) in preparation for Ahsoka. When I saw Sabine and Hera after last week’s Mandalorian cameo of Zeb, I just couldn’t contain my happiness watching the trailer.
Don’t forget about Chopper, the unsung hero from Rebels!
So happy to see the story started in Rebels continue.
Is that David Tennant back voicing the droid from Clone Wars???
I don’t love this as much as I wanted to. Maybe it’s just the cliché “Something’s coming,” “It’s been a while,” “Things have changed” dialogue intercut with brief “Hey, that’s that person!” scenes, but this played like a fan film to me.
.
Hopefully I enjoy the actual series more.
“Heir to the Empire” was pretty cringy. Though that last line by the droid couldn’t have come at a better time after the Mandalorian this week. Changing everything and starting over is badly needed for Star Wars at this point.

Ok…?

Noooooooooooo!!!!!
Oh wow! I was not expecting Hera. I can’t wait for this. The Mandalorian has been very disappointing this season so I was kind of worried about Ahsoka but the trailer looks promising.
I loved this trailer and I think this will be really good…however, I’m wondering if Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett suffered because of the attention to all of these new series like Ashoka, Andor, The Acolyte, etc…I just feel there’s been a noticeable decline in show quality in Mando this season and Boba Fett was not good.
After last week’s appearances of Lizzo and Jack Black in the Mandalorian, I was very, VERY close to give up on it all. I figured, if Star Wars is now also about parading different random celebrities around every other week, it’s probably not for me anymore. (Boba Fett, Andor and Mandalorian S3 didn’t move me at all, really)
But seeing Ahsoka’s trailer gives me some hope that this will show will be a return to form and full of classic SW vibes again!
And you can ever so slightly see Live Action Ezra!!!
The back of Thrawn’s head looks more like Sam Witwer than lars Mikkelsen to me.
