Yellowstone's Jefferson White Hopes That It Will Be 'Smooth Sailing' for Jimmy and Emily in Season 5

Yellowstone Season 4 Finale

Life has not been easy for Yellowstone‘s Jimmy Hurstam (played by Jefferson White), who can never seem to escape his criminal past.

After dealing with money problems and a string of rodeo accidents — resulting in numerous injuries including neck and back fractures, a shattered hip, and a grade three concussion — things are finally looking up for the troubled rancher. He moved on from Mia and got engaged to Emily (Kathryn Kelly), and now the pair looks to start anew in Texas.

As the Paramount Network show gears up for Season 5 (arriving with a two-hour premiere on Sunday, Nov. 13 at 8/7c), portrayer Jefferson White hopes that Jimmy’s life has truly changed for the better.

“He chose Emily, and he chose this new life in Texas,” White tells TVLine. “I cross my fingers that it’s smooth sailing for him because it’s a beautiful thing. It’s the first time in his life he has a little bit of agency.”

But will he ever make his way back to the Yellowstone ranch this season? “There’s certainly more Jimmy in store,” White teases. “Whether it’s Montana or Texas, you’ll have to wait and find out.”

Yellowstone follows the Dutton family, led by John Dutton (Kevin Costner), who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States.

As previously reported, the show upped four recurring cast members to series regulars for Season 5, including Kelly, Jen Landon (as scene stealer Teeter), Wendy Moniz (John’s old flame, Governor Perry) and Mo Brings Plenty (Rainwater’s go-to guy, Mo).
