TVLine Is Thankful For: Hill House Horrors, Superior Heroes, Shorter Dramas, Timeless Closure and More

TVLine Thankful For 2018

Another year of top-notch television has (almost) come and gone — and with Thanksgiving just two days away, Team TVLine is reflecting on the small-screen fare for which we’re most grateful.

Thanks to the #PeakTV era, each year it gets tougher for us to whittle down our favorite television from the previous 11 months. But as you’ll see in the attached gallery, each TVLine staffer is giving personal thanks for four TV highlights of 2018.

This year, we’re thankful for multiple shows that have course-corrected after wobbly seasons (including Arrow and How to Get Away With Murder), as well as the series that are getting proper send-offs, such as Timeless and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

We’re also showing our gratitude for TV’s latest trends (see: the rise of small-screen witches), memorable performances like that of Sharp Objects‘ Eliza Scanlen and such richly realized characters as Killing Eve‘s Villanelle.

Scroll through the gallery above — or click here for direct access —  to see the fare that TVLine President/Editorial Director Michael Ausiello, Editor-in-Chief Matt Webb Mitovich, Managing Editor Kimberly Roots, Executive Editor Andy Swift, Senior Editor Dave Nemetz, West Coast Editor Vlada Gelman, News Editor Rebecca Iannucci and Staff Editor Ryan Schwartz have singled out as deserving of special kudos. (And come back on Wednesday to see what you, the TVLine readers, were thankful for in 2018.)
