The View reportedly is swapping out its conservative host.
On Monday’s episode of the ABC daytime talk show, Jedediah Bila announced that the broadcast would be her last as a host. Watch a clip below:
Monday morning, View producers sent the following note to the show’s staff, alerting them to Bila’s departure:
As some of you heard this morning at our meeting, we have some bittersweet news to share. Jed is leaving our show, and today is her last day. She has new opportunities on the horizon, including her new book. She’s been a spirited voice at the table over the past year, asking smart questions and challenging us all to think. We want to thank Jed very much for all of her contributions and wish her great success with the next step in her career. She will always be part of The View family, and we’ll welcome her back to talk about her new projects. Please join us in thanking Jed for her hard work, her dedication and her voice at the table.
According to CNN, Meghan MccCain is in talks to take Bila’s seat at the View table. Until recently, McCain — daughter of Arizona Sen. John McCain — was a host on Fox News Channel’s Outnumbered. Last week, McCain announced she was leaving the cable network.
ABC declined to comment on McCain’s possible employment.
TVLine hears that The View, which has had several politically conservative hosts take a seat at the table since Candace Cameron Bure left in December 2016, has a short list of permanent replacements for Bila that likely includes McCain, and that an announcement of a new host is imminent.
