CBS’ The Amazing Race expectedly slowed down in its new Friday time slot, launching Season 25 with 5.5 million total viewers and a 1.1 demo rating — down 36 and 45 percent from its previous, Sunday premiere.
TAR was also down from what Undercover Boss did in the time slot a year ago (8.2 mil/1.6).

CBS’ dramas in turn took a hit. Hawaii Five-0 returned to 9.0 mil/1.2 (down 4 and 25 percent from its previous premiere and barely matching its May finale), while Blue Bloods (10.9 mil/1.2) fell 6 and 29 percent from its year-ago opener and was down from its May finale (11.8 mil/1.4).
Over on ABC, Shark Tank returned to 7.5 mil/1.9, up from both its previous premiere and its May finale (6.7 mil/1.7).
Fox’s Utopia (1.9 mil/0.7) rose 25 percent and two tenths week-to-week, while a Gotham pilot encore did 2.5 mil/0.7. Over There, Fringe‘s Season 7 premiere* drew 2.9 million total viewers and a 1.0 rating.
The CW’s Masters of Illusion (1 mil/0.3) dropped 27 and 25 percent.
*This was humor. Fringe ended after Season 5.
