Last Sunday’s Witches of East End left viewers hanging (too soon?) with a million burning questions, including: How can the Beauchamps possibly recover from this?

Fortunately, star Rachel Boston was ready and willing to give TVLine the inside scoop on Ingrid and Freya’s gut-wrenching twist, as well as offer a glimpse into the final few episodes of Season 2.
TVLINE |What was your initial reaction when you found out Ingrid was going to be killed?
Our producers kept saying there was a huge cliffhanger for Ingrid and Freya in Season 2, but they kept us guessing for a while. And then when they told us, I’m pretty sure we both dramatically screamed, “What!? Nooooo! We don’t want to die!” We didn’t realize that a huge cliffhanger would involve actual hanging.
TVLINE | Well played. How did they break that news to you?
They told us early on in the season, but when I read the script, I was absolutely shocked. It was heartbreaking to imagine our mother and aunt finding us in the garden. This is the longest Freya and Ingrid have ever lived, and Joanna has done everything possible to keep us safe in this life. When we filmed the scene, I couldn’t stop crying when we were off camera. Julia Ormond really gave it her all.
TVLINE | That she did, and the shot of you two hanging was bone-chilling. How was that scene executed, so to speak? I’m assuming you and Jenna weren’t actually hanging by a tree.
It was all us! We were in harnesses that were attached to a crane right above the trees. I had a rehearsal the weekend before with our stunt coordinator Paul Wu, who made sure we felt safe and secure the whole time. I feel so blessed to be on this journey with Jenna. We had wonderful talks before and after this scene. It’s powerful material.
TVLINE | Switching gears a bit, are you a fan of Dash and Ingrid’s romantic relationship, and how would you like to see it evolve?
[Laughs] I am a huge fan of romantic relationships in general. I absolutely love the development between Dash and Ingrid and the complications of their past lives. Things get a little tricky when you’re dating your sister’s ex-finance who also happens to be the grandson of your former lover from another life.
TVLINE | Obviously you can’t spill the beans, but what will it take to bring Ingrid and Freya back to life?
Will someone have to make a sacrifice? You find out this Sunday! Wendy and Fredrick go to extreme measures to bring someone back from our past.
TVLINE | The previews for next week’s episode reveal the arrival of the King. What kind of trouble might he bring about in East End?
The King will be stirring up all kinds of trouble in East End. Ingrid actually goes on quite a journey with the King as she discovers more about her life in Asgard. There are a lot of choices to be made.
TVLINE | With only a few episodes left in Season 2, how much crazier are things going to get for the Beauchamps?
So much crazier! Next level crazier! The season finale is an epic, romantic, time traveling adventure. Prepare yourself for an emotional roller coaster. It’s going down in East End.
