Boston Blue: Danny Reagan Clashes With His New Partner (At Gunpoint!) In First Trailer For Blue Bloods Spinoff

Danny Reagan isn't exactly getting off on the right foot with his new partner.

CBS has released the first trailer for Blue Bloods spinoff Boston Blue, with Donnie Wahlberg reprising his role as police detective Danny, who moves from the Big Apple to Beantown. In the trailer — which you can watch above — Danny is chasing a suspect on foot when he's ordered to stop at gunpoint by Boston detective Lena Silver, played by Star Trek: Discovery's Sonequa Martin-Green. He tries to explain he's a cop, even offering to show her his "shield." She asks if he means his badge, but Danny fires back: "Where I'm from, it's a shield."

Danny and Lena end up as partners, and when she points out he has a reputation, he agrees... "for getting things done." They reach an uneasy truce, though, and good news, Blue Bloods fans: It looks like family dinners are still a tradition on Boston Blue. Lena invites Danny to Friday night Shabbat — she, her mom and her siblings converted to Judaism — where her pastor grandfather, played by Ernie Hudson, tells Danny: "We are one family, and we have faith in our family." Sounds just like home to us.
