Maggie Q's 'Troublesome' Ballard Won't Be Kept Quiet In Bosch: Legacy Spinoff Trailer — Get Release Date
Veteran Detective Renée Ballard is seen by the LAPD brass as a "troublesome woman" to be kept "quiet" by working cold cases out of a basement, as seen in the first trailer for the Bosch: Legacy spinoff Ballard.
Ballard will get underway Wednesday, July 9, when all 10 Season 1 episodes land on Prime Video.
Ordered to series back in November 2024, the new entry in the Bosch universe finds Nikita alum Maggie Q's Detective Ballard "running the LAPD's new cold case division — a poorly funded, all-volunteer unit with the largest case load in the city.
"Ballard approaches these frozen-in-time cases with empathy and determination," the synopsis continues. "When she uncovers a larger conspiracy during her investigations, she'll lean on the assistance of her retired ally, Harry Bosch (Titus Welliver), to navigate the dangers that threaten both her unit and her life."
The cast also includes Michael Mosley (always Castle) as Ted, a reserve officer who has been assigned to cold cases to keep an eye on Ballard; Amy Hill (Magnum P.I.) as Tutu, Ballard's spunky grandma; Rebecca Field (All Rise) as Colleen, an enthusiastic and eccentric volunteer; Victoria Moroles (Teen Wolf) as Martina, a savvy legal intern; John Carroll Lynch (Big Sky) as Thomas Laffont, Renee's former partner who un-retires to help her run the Cold Case Department, and Courtney Taylor (Abbott Elementary, Insecure) as Samira Parker, a wary ex-cop who returns to the force at her former mentor Ballard's behest.
Jet Wilkinson serves as an executive producer on Ballard alongside Bosch novels author Michael Connelly, Trish Hofmann, Michael Alaimo, Kendall Sherwood, Henrik Bastin and Melissa Aouate.
