Sistas Season 6 Returns With A Bang — Has Karen Entered Her Villain Era?
Remember that gloriously over-the-top battle scene in the last Twilight movie where half of the cast suffers brutal deaths... but it all turns out to be a vision? Well, Sistas basically pulled that same trick in Wednesday's midseason premiere, which opened with Karen shooting Fatima point blank at her place of business... only for Karen to snap out of her daydream moments later. (Come to think of it, I'm starting to see why this episode was titled "Daydreams.")
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad that Fatima didn't actually take a bullet, but I'm also kind of surprised at how quickly I believed that Karen would shoot her. There's the deep end, and then there's wherever Karen is right now. And even after making a huge spectacle about Zac being her baby's father, Aaron claimed that the actual records — which he obtained through means he deemed "not important" — prove him to be her baby daddy. Who's lying here?!
Fatima, of course, is already convinced that Karen is BS-ing everyone, proposing the possibility that neither Aaron nor Zac is the father. "Who's to say that she was only with the two of them?" Fatima asked Andi, whose only defense was that Karen would have told her if a third man was in the mix. I'm not saying I co-sign Fatima's theory, but I also wouldn't be so sure if I was Andi; given Karen's extreme behavior as of late, lying about a potential third father would be nothing.
It was also an eventful week for Dani, who apparently has a stalker — a hot stalker, but a stalker nonetheless. She was approached at work by a man who parks (his dark, creepy van!) next to her and apparently overhears all of her conversations with Karen, Andi and Sabrina, all of whom he mentioned by name during his opening conversation with Dani. It really does beg the age old question: Is the hotness worth the crazy? Time will tell.
Elsewhere in the hour, Maurice failed miserably to convince the district attorney that he was responsible for the bank robbery, much to Sabrina's relief; Bayo insisted that his dislike for Maurice has nothing to do with him being gay, then refused to let Sabrina break up with him because he sees her as an "investment"; Gary gave Andi a friendly "warning" about a sketchy dating app he caught her using, surely free of any ulterior motives; Fatima encouraged Zac to visit his son; and Hayden appeared to display genuine human emotions, which was arguably the biggest twist of the season thus far.
