Not everyone will make it out of Snowfall‘s sixth and final season alive, and this week’s episode — now streaming on Hulu — made that perfectly clear.
After Louie first betrayed Franklin by cutting him out of a deal with Teddy, Franklin retaliated by going scorched earth. He robbed her club, stole her drugs, and ratted her out to Kane. But with the Saints now at war — and Teddy at the center of it — it was only a matter of time before bodies began dropping in their inner circles.
When Franklin murdered Teddy’s father, Veronique’s mother pushed for her to grab her things and get out while she still could since things were getting ugly. It was a valid concern, given that Franklin threatened to go after Teddy’s ex-wife and child next, and Teddy then increased surveillance on all of Franklin’s associates.
Teddy even tried to convince Oso to walk away and threatened to kill him if he didn’t. Oso then met with Franklin and only agreed to turn on Teddy if Franklin promised to kill the former CIA agent before he could go after his family. Expect more bloodshed to come out of this side deal.
Meanwhile, Jerome was fed up with the chaos. He told Louie he wanted out of the crack game, that he couldn’t do it anymore. But Louie wasn’t ready to leave yet, reminding him of the promises she made to Teddy as well as having their money tied up in Panama. And while Jerome agreed to help her with a drop, he was firm in his decision to leave.
Unfortunately, this family feud finally caught up with them. Kane kidnapped Louie and had her beaten and tortured at a warehouse. He called in Franklin to kill her, but Franklin declined. Instead, Franklin secretly called Jerome, and they formed a hasty plan to help her escape.
When the bullets began flying, Jerome wound up face-to-face with Kane, who had a gun pointed at Louie’s head. Kane tried to level with Jerome — given how long they’ve known each other — and offered a truce. Jerome refused. They fired at each other, and Jerome caught several to the chest. As Louie sobbed over Jerome’s body, and Franklin processed this through tears, Jerome’s question to Louie earlier in the hour felt all the more poignant: Was it all worth this?
How are you feeling about Jerome’s death on Snowfall? Were you shocked?
Such a great character. And a great end to him. These last few episodes are going to be INTENSE.
Snowfall does not get enough respect, its quietly one if the best shows right now….I thought this show was ending with Franklin going out in a blaze of glory ala Tony Montana. However the more i think about it, the more poetic if he gets his money back only to lose everyone he cares about…I think Jerome is just the start, as the next 4 episodes will see a lot of big characters go…this is why knowing its the final season can be so exciting because anything can happen.
Keisha Hatchett, please do correct research before writing reviews.
* Franklin threatened to go after Teddy’s EX-WIFE (Julia) and their SON (Paul).
* Teddy and Julia’s story arc is explained that the two have been divorced long before the show began which was a result of Teddy’s mental breakdown during his Tehran operation. This was explained in season 1.
* Jerome was shot twice (heart & below the heart), and possibly a third time. It’s difficult to sort out the cluster from the angle and lighting of the scene.
Thank you! I was literally thinking the same thing when I read this. It almost made me think she doesn’t really watch the show, which is a shame because Snowfall is amazing!
Also, he didn’t threaten Oso, he threatened the KGB guy.
I knew Jerome was done for when he said he was leaving business. Hated seeing him get killed, although he kind of had it coming after he beat one of Franklin’s hench-women to death. However, I would have much rather see Louie get killed as she was more deserving of death than Jerome in my opinion since it was her betrayal of Franklin that put the family at odds. I hope the writers still kill her off because outside she is a toxic and despicable character in my opinion.
Yes I loved Jerome…Big guy with a great heart.
He died too early, wish he could’ve lived life the way he wanted.
Snowfall is one of the best series ever! The cast is phenomenal!
Yes, honestly I wanted Jerome to live. I’m really sadden about his death. I feel the wrong person was killed off. It could have went down differently. All I know things is about to get more crazy now.
NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! I was not expecting for Jerome to be killed at all! He was funny and sweet and when he finally realized that being in the game wasn’t worth all the bloodshed and feuding with his family, it was too late. Greed and power won!! 💔
