Found Recap: Lacey Finally Confronts Gabi — Plus, Is Trent In Trouble?

Gabi's ongoing mission to help those who've slipped through the cracks continued in this week's episode of NBC's Found, as the team searched for an addict named David.

Their investigation revealed that David wasn't off somewhere getting high, but rather was being held captive by a family member trying to cover up a murder.

The case exposed Gabi's personal demons, fueled by her experience with an alcoholic father. Because she only saw David as an addict — and was driven by a deep desire to give him the reunion with his dying mother than she never got with her own dad — she nearly overlooked the fact that he was a kidnapping victim.

As Sir analyzed, it was Gabi's "inability to see David as more than an addict that has caused you to have a critical error in judgement." That was enough to point her in the right direction, and she was then able to bring David home just in time to say goodbye to his mother.

With the case wrapped up, Lacey finally confronted Gabi about her suspicions that Gabi was withholding something. As you recall from Episode 4, Lacey picked up on the fact that Gabi had lied to her about Sir. Plus, in Tuesday's episode, Lacey noted that her mentor hasn't been herself for months.

"I think you're hiding something from me," she told Gabi. "I don't know what, but I know that you lied to me — to all of us — a couple of times." Still, Gabi didn't come clean about keeping their abductor in her basement.

But Gabi did reveal to Trent that their intimate conversation at the lake meant something to her. However, she couldn't let it "mean more than that" right now. Trent's swoon-worthy reply confirmed that he is, indeed, one of the best (almost) TV boyfriends of the year.

"Lucky for you, I'm a patient man," he hit back.

Trent later showed up at her door — much to Sir's confusion and dismay — to explain that he took the fall for her after their secret thumb drive was discovered by his boss Mallory. He'd been suspended and, pending an investigation, was most likely to be fired. Oh no!

Found fans, how are you doing emotionally after this week's episode? Do y'all think Trent is going to be fired? And given how angry Sir looked after hearing Trent's voice upstairs, what do you think his next move will be?
