9-1-1: Lone Star Rocks Carlos' World — Did [Spoiler] Really Kill His Father?

With only a handful of episodes remaining, 9-1-1: Lone Star finally gave Carlos a major break in his father's murder case on Monday. So why isn't he relieved? Well, it's complicated.

On the plus side, Carlos and his fellow Texas Rangers successfully raided a trap house, rescuing an informant with whom Carlos' father had been in contact before he was killed. Even better, the man passed along a message from the late Papa Reyes which could potentially blow the case wide open.

Now for the bad part: that message was a warning not to trust — wait for it — Ranger Sam Campbell. That's right, Carlos' new BFF just became the prime suspect in his father's murder. [Exploding head emoji.]

When we spoke with 9-1-1: Lone Star co-showrunner Rashad Raisani ahead of Season 5, he teased that Carlos and Campbell's storyline had major spinoff potential, adding that "this season is going to be a proof of concept." And now that we're seeing their story unfold in all its twisted glory, we can say with certainty — we'd watch the heck out of that.

Meanwhile, Carlos' home life was only slightly less chaotic this week. Upon learning that Enzo plans to send Jonah to a boarding school in Switzerland, T.K. proposed becoming his younger brother's legal guardian and raising him with Carlos in Austin. Carlos insisted that he isn't ready, but T.K. refused to back down.

In happier news, the 126 rallied together this week in support of Tommy, whose insurance doesn't cover the experimental treatment she needs to beat her type of cancer. After poring over the city's budget, Owen's team found more than enough to cover Tommy's expenses. And when the mayor tried to have them arrested, the police opted to stand in solidarity with the 126.

Were you stunned by the Campbell reveal, or did you suspect Carlos' new partner of no good from the start? Then again, could this all be a misunderstanding? Drop a comment with your thoughts on Monday's 9-1-1: Lone Star, as well as your hopes for the show's remaining four episodes.
