ABC’s Roseanne returned from its one-week break to 10.3 million total viewers and a 2.5 rating, down 23 and 26 percent from its last fresh outing and now down a full half from its revival premiere rating, yet still dominating the night in the demo.
Leading out of that, The Middle (6.1 mil/1.5) was down 19 and 25 percent, while black-ish (4.6 mil/1.2), Splitting Up Together (3.9 mil/1.1) and For the People (2.2 mil/0.6) each ticked up.
Elsewhere….
FOX | Lethal Weapon (3.1 mil/0.7) and bubble comedy LA to Vegas‘ freshman finale (1.8 mil/0.5) each slipped to new series lows, while New Girl (1.5 mil/0.5) dipped a tenth in the demo.
THE CW | The Flash (1.7 mil/0.6) and The 100 (1.1 mil/0.4) were steady in the demo, though the former hit an audience low.
CBS | Part 1 of NCIS‘ farewell to Pauley Perrette (12.1 mil/1.2) and lead-out Bull (10.3 mil/1.1) were steady, with the former eclipsing Roseanne‘s total audience. New Orleans (8.1 mil/0.9) ticked up a tenth.
NBC | The Voice (7.5 mil/1.2) fell 19 and 25 percent week-to-week, marking series lows for an original episode. Rise (3.8 mil/0.7) was steady, Chicago Med (5.8 mil/0.9) dipped a tenth.

Didn’t Beverly announce she was gay in a previous season of Roseanne?
I remember Leon and his partner as ing welcome to the club and things like that.
And Jackie was married with a kid, right? Or was that part of the dream season? I thought there would be some mention of Jackie’s “family” when Beverly came into the apartment (there were what appeared to be family pictures on the set), but nothing.
It’s part of the “Forget Everything We Told You Season 9”.
Yes. I think she had a girlfriend?
It will be interesting to see where Roseanne levels off. I think it was a mistake to air a night of repeats last Tuesday. When a show is hot, it can kill the momentum.
I agree. ABC likes to do that. They killed WHO… MILLIONAIRE that way? Can’t blame the web tho in these days where highly viewed series are rare. Remember when we watched TV and liked it? Now it seems like an assignment.
yes, that was a really weird and stupid move. I love the show, though.
So, unless the rumors that Tracee Ellis Ross was considering leaving Black-ish are now true, this whole plot is rushed and mishandled. They went from being fine in one episode to opening the next episode, talking about them being in funk and now are separated in the next episode. There was no lead up to it and there is no subtly to the issues/story ( as seen by the muted hue of last night’s episode).
Agree. I was disappointed in the episode and also thought they made her the villain because the storyline was rushed. Not sure where all this came from.
I guess I don’t see her at the villain. I am totally Team Bow as she has put up with Dre’s BS for years and I can see why she could no long take it.
I agree, I’m Team Bow. In the last two episodes they have cranked up his stubbornness and he’s blamed her for a lot. I wonder though if this storyline has anything do with those rumors a few months ago about contract negotiations with Tracee Ellis Ross (though I think they all came back and it was settled).
Absolutely agree. Sorry, that’s what I was trying to say. I love Rainbow and thought the way they wrote her character was unfair.
Those are significant, huge drops for Roseanne. It’s lost half of its viewers since it’s premiere. John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf and Estelle Parsons are as sharp as ever, but Roseanne’s performances are stiff. Her timing seems off, like she’s rusty as an actress. Hopefully, she’ll improve.
I thought the exact same thing! It almost seems like she doesn’t want to be there. I can’t believe how amazing Estelle Parsons looks! It like she’s Roseanne and Jackie’s sister.
I think the show is as good as its ever been. I have no problem with anyone’s performance. it’s still killing in the ratings no matter how they try to spin it. yes, they feel from the number one show to the number two show. big deal.
ABC made a huge mistake by airing Roseanne repeats last week. I was so excited every Tuesday to watch and actually made sure I was home. Having the week off dampened my excitement and I didn’t even get around to watching last night. There are only 8 episodes so I don’t know why they couldn’t just run them consecutively and keep their momentum going…
May sweeps. You sure lose interest fast.
I HATED last nights episode of NCIS: NO. It was awful and so not what I’m used to with one of my favorite shows.
Next season i read they will talk abt jackies son… i also read jackie lost everything thats why she was bitter and alone…thats why she is in appartment…roseanne and good girls are best shows on network tv …
Wow The Voice really is starting to fade Never thought i would see this show that low. Dont worry about Roseanne. Yes a big dip but still WAY ahead of everyone else. i hope NCIS can nudge up a bit next week with Pauley’s goodbye show. And i know FOX is always low but those comedy numbers yikes!!!! especially for New Girl
Roseanne needs some tweaking so it will flow better. You can tell it has Whiney Cummings and Wanda Sykes involved because they are shouting their lines. And has anyone else noted John Goodman looks as though he is reading cue cards?
I really hope LA to Vegas is renewed. It looked awful but was a nice surprise. If it comes down to this show and Ghosted, I hope they pick this show. Adam and Craig deserve better.
Agreed. Prior to the start of both shows, I was super excited about Ghosted. Really like Adam and Craig, and I was kinda excited and intrigued by the premise. Whereas LA to Vegas I started watching with the mindset that it would be cancelled after 4 or 5 episodes, but watched nonetheless because I like Dylan and Ed. Imagine my shock when I enjoyed LA to Vegas MUCH more than I enjoyed Ghosted. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate Ghosted, but I would rather LA to Vegas stick around over Ghosted, if we’re choosing between the two.
YES! LA to Vegas is honestly HILARIOUS!
I love LA/ Vegas.. It’s silly and makes me laugh.. Plus Captain Dave is handsome and so funny..
L.A. TO VEGAS IS AWESOME !! Utterly brilliant and needs to be renewed… so unexpected and a genuine break from all the pain/suffering and violence it makes a wonderful change.
Ghosted was a terrible disappointment. In addition to the stars, they had a great supporting cast. Waste.
Jackie’s son Andy was born from a relationship and eventual marriage to Fred (Michael O’Keefe) in seasons 6-8.
I think Estelle Parsons and Laurie Metcalf are the only natural, relaxed performances in the reboot but I watch.
