Fox’s The Gifted with its eighth episode delivered 2.9 million total viewers and a 0.9 rating, dipping on both counts to new series lows.
Leading into that, Lucifer (3.3 mil/0.9) also ticked down.
NBC’s The Voice (9.1 mil/1.7) placed second to ABC’s The Good Doctor in the demo, as it slipped three tenths to regularly-scheduled season lows. The Brave (4.7 mil/0.9) ended its fall run down a tick.
Elsewhere….
THE CW | Supergirl (1.91 mil/0.5) and Valor (1 mil/0.2) were steady.
ABC | Pending adjustment due to NFL preemption, Dancing With the Stars (10.4 mil/1.5) is currently up week-to-week but well shy of last fall’s finale Part 1 (12 mil/1.8). The Good Doctor (10.3 mil/1.9) again held steady and, if the numbers hold, bested The Voice for its first-ever Monday demo win.
CBS | Pending adjustment due to NFL preemption, Kevin Can Wait (6.7 mil/1.4), Man With a Plan (6 mil/1.2), Superior Donuts (5.2 mil/1.0) and Scorpion (5 mil/0.9) all were up, while 9JKL (4.4 mil/0.8) was flat.

Happy for the Good Doctor, they’re really doing well!
Same :). Especially considering the show just keeps getting better and better each week. I’ll be curious to see how it’ll do next week without “Dancing” as a lead-in-sounds like it’s established itself well enough to where it doesn’t need a lead-in to gain viewers, so hopefully this steady trend will continue the remainder of the season.
The Good Doctor is brilliant! I’m glad it’s doing well! ABC will be pleased.
The Brave on the other hand, so far NBC have done nothing well this season – why did they just not air the last three episodes instead of waiting for January? They’ve already announced they are not ordering more episodes b/c it didn’t become the big hit they wanted so are replacing it with more day-time reality-like crap. Everything they’ve done seems to have backfired – moved Chi Fire, ratings down for it.
Last night was episode 8 of The Brave, so here are 5 episodes left. NBC is airing some Christmas specials and such in the coming weeks. It isn’t like NBC is going to want to premiere a new show in the timeslot in January anyway then have a hiatus after only a few weeks due to the Olympics. And I don’t know what you mean by “replacing it with more day-time reality-like crap.” The scripted drama Good Girls takes it slot after the Olympics.
Also, it’s just a myth that reality-TV regularly replaces scripted shows: https://tvline.com/2016/06/07/cancelled-shows-replaced-by-reality-tv/
It was ep 9, not 8.
NBC also took that approach with The Good Place. I also thought The Brave was set up to be a 13 episode season.
The Brave Season 1 was always 13 and just 13, by design.
I didn’t realize that! It makes me feel a little better about its renewal chances, though not much, sadly.
So is Lucifer save? I mean I love this show to bits and every time I see how it loses in ratings I’m getting a bit nervous. I love Luci.
I don’t think you have to worry about Lucifer. It’s doing okay by Fox standards.
Sad that the gifted is getting worse in the ratings…
Check Marvel’s Runaways on Hulu. It’s already much better than The Gifted or Inhumans.
It has gotten a bit boring for me but last night’s episode was one of the best so far.
My DVR didn’t record Lucifer. I’m so bummed :-(
Hulu is your friend. ;)
Maybe of note – not sure how much Seattle factors into ratings – but Seattle was the MNF game and therefore the 8p hour of CBS comedies were preempted.
I’m hoping this show survives! It’s awesome and as far as superhero shows go, I’m liking it so much more than The Flash and Supergirl (which are getting so repetitive)
The Gifted was really good last night. One of the best episodes so far. It’s sad the ratings are down. I hope it doesn’t get cancelled. 😕
Caitlin scenes with the mutants were good, but the dad is boring as hell and I don’t understand why they’ve made him the carrier of X Gene. I say if it gets canceled – good riddance.
Well that’s your opinion. I would like for it to continue.
Too bad for Lucifer and The Gifted but still hanging in there. I hope the ABC and CBS numbers hold. The Good Doctor even if it ends up going down is what you would call a break out hit. Demo still decent and HH numbers pretty good especially given that their lead in is a lot weaker than it used to be. The Brave is ok but I doubt good enough to come back
The Gifted had a good episode last night.
I really like “The Gifted.” I wish more people were watching.
I’m getting a little concerned about Lucifer. It’s going from strength to strength creatively, but those ratings keep dropping. Please let Luci stick around for another two seasons.
the gifted should be renewed for a second season please
