CBS’ Wisdom of the Crowd wrapped its 13-episode run on Sunday with 5.9 million total viewers and a 0.7 rating, adding a handful of eyeballs week-to-week while holding onto its series-low demo.
Leading out of that, NCIS: Los Angeles (9 mil/1.0) drew its largest audience since its May finale while ticking up to its best demo number since Oct. 22. Madam Secretary (7.1 mil/0.7) delivered a best-since-premiere audience while up a tenth in the demo.
Over on Fox: Leading out of the Vikings’ last-minute win over the Saints (which at its peak drew north of 35 million viewers), The Simpsons (8.6 mil/3.5), Bob’s Burgers (5.1 mil/2.2), Family Guy‘s 300th episode (3.9 mil/1.7) and Last Man on Earth (3.7 mil/1.3) all hit season highs, pending adjustment.
ABC’s AFV (5.9 mil/1.2) slipped two tenths from last week’s season high. Shark Tank‘s first hour (5.3 mil/1.3) drew its biggest audience since March 3, while dipping in the demo from last week’s season high; the second hour (4.7 mil/1.2) gave ABC its best rating in the time slot in over two years (since Quantico 12/13/15).

Last MAn on Earth has been great these last two eps. I was so bummed to find out it is now on another hiatus. Can never help a show that reached Demo season highs go off the air for long extended periods
Unless whatever is on in its place crash and burns and makes last man look really good.
They are airing LA to Vegas repeats until Last Man returns in March. I don’t know why they don’t just air Bob’s Burgers there instead of 7:30.
Interesting “season” finale for Wisdom of the Crowd. I interpreted the scene with the entire cast together as a goodbye to the fans (they had to have known when they filmed episode 13 that the back nine hadn’t been ordered yet). There was some closure in the storyline (no spoilers for those who haven’t watched it), but clearly the story could go on if it is miraculously renewed with or without Jeremy Piven.
It won’t be, ratings are terrible and it’s lead is poison right now. Zero chance at returning for more episodes.
Agreed, that’s why I said “miraculously renewed.” I think the Jeremy Piven situation was the basis for the show not get a full season order (then it probably would’ve been cancelled in May).
Agreed and missed the word miracualously lol my bad.
I have no doubt that low ratings of the last episode, had to do with the show being cancelled. If they wanted to fire Jeremy they could have replaced him, but to cancel such a good show doesn’t make sense. I thought it was unique and interesting. Bring it back.
I agree, Wisdom of the Crowd is a great series and, in my opinion, Jeremy played the part well. While there is some minor violence in the show it pales in comparison to the gore and gun-slinging many of the other series on prime time have. Take Criminal Minds, for example. Do we really need to show so many satanic visuals to make this show entertaining – don’t think so. Bring back WOTC!
I think the reason for a flat finish is because it was known the show had been cancelled. Why they just didn’t replace Jeremy Pivan is a mystery. The show was great. Bring it back with a new star of the show.
Agreed. I was at least hoping we would get some resolution. But for a show that focused on a specific mystery and not solve it before it goes away, is pretty crappy. I liked the show. I thought it was a unique premise for a crime drama. It was nice to something a little different. Disappointed they didn’t try to find another way, or at least give us an ending.
I agree. I loved the show and if they had an issue with all of Pivon’s baggage they could have found a way to replace him. They could have solved th case on his daughters murder and then found away to replace him to keep the show going. It was a refreshing twist to a crime drama. Really sad to see it go.
I too would have liked a better ending. Have the detective guy now run Sophe and bring it back. I want closer as to who killed Mia.
It never fails, by the time I find a TV show I like/or l9ve it is being cancelled for not enough views. Wisdom of the crowd became my new favorite show only to find it has been cancelled.
Adios, JP. I doubt you’ll ever get work in Hollywood again. What a blessing.
Compare this last episode to a playoff nfl game,no tv show has a chance!! The 13th episode if waited til all the nfl games were over, would for sure have more viewers, i finally found a show that was entertaining, suspenseful, had a storyline, and new plot every series, at least let the viewers know who the murderer is before u rip that from us,you say tv is for the viewers, wrong its only how much the network thinks they are going to make,i guarantee,no one is going to remember the sexual abuse allegations a year from now bc now a days everyone is bringing it up,even if its true or not,the show shouldnt be judged on that,in a show,he is jeremy tanner, not the actor the alleged did these things years ago.give the show a chance!!! Comeon criminal minds, the storyline is blah and its nothing but torture, guts, inappropriate suggestions from one human to another,if that show gets a chance,at least finish wisdom of the crowd so we know who killed mia!###
