The Way Home Renewed For Season 4 At Hallmark Channel
Who's up for a celebratory jump in the pond?
Hallmark Channel has renewed the time-traveling family drama The Way Home for Season 4, to air in 2026, it was announced on the show's Instagram account. The Season 3 finale airs this Friday, March 7 at 9/8c.
The series follows three generations of strong-willed women that make up the Landry family: Kat (played by Chyler Leigh), her teenage daughter Alice (Sadie Laflamme-Snow) and Kat's mother Del (Andie MacDowell). The Landrys live near a magical pond that gives them — Kat and Alice, in particular — the ability to travel to the past. Evan Williams co-stars as Elliot Augustine, Kat's high school best friend-turned-boyfriend in adulthood following Kat's divorce from Alice's father.
"Our talented writing staff led by the mother-daughter showrunning team of Heather Conkie and Alexandra Clarke continues to amaze us as they raise the bar each season," Samantha DiPippo, Senior Vice President of Programming for Hallmark Media, said in a statement. "Their carefully crafted storytelling filled with family drama, romance and an absorbing mystery has enthralled the show's passionate fanbase and has made The Way Home appointment television. We can't wait for them to see where the pond takes our time travelers as their journey continues."
Thus far in the third season, which premiered Jan. 3, Alice travelled to 1974, the year her grandmother, Del, and her grandfather, Colton, fell in love. During her adventures, she uncovered that Colton knew about the pond and used it to go back in time twice as a teenager. Meanwhile, Kat jumped to 1816, the year without summer that almost devastated her hometown of Port Haven — and ran into Colton, who saved her brother Jacob's life.
Looking ahead at the Season 3 ender, co-showrunner Heather Conkie told TVLine that the hour "is probably one of the most emotional [episodes] in the entire history of the show. We're very proud of it... We can honestly say it answers a lot of questions."
