Ozzy Osbourne, the iconic lead singer of Black Sabbath who also fronted the classic MTV reality show The Osbournes, has died at the age of 76 following a battle with Parkinson's disease.
"It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning," the Osbourne family said in a statement Tuesday. "He was with his family and surrounded by love."
UPDATE: In August, a death certificate filed in London revealed that Osbourne died of a heart attack. The document listed "cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson's disease with autonomic dysfunction" as contributing factors.
Osbourne's death came less than three weeks after he reunited with Black Sabbath for his final live performance in his hometown of Birmingham, England. On July 18, it was confirmed that the concert had been recorded for theatrical release; Back to the Beginning: Ozzy's Final Bow is due out in 2026.
Osbourne — who was nicknamed the "Prince of Darkness" — revealed in January 2020 that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Three years later, he announced his retirement from touring.

He was also a reality-TV fixture in the early aughts, appearing alongside his wife, Sharon, and two of their two children, Kelly and Jack, in the MTV unscripted series The Osbournes. It aired for four seasons — and a total of 52 episodes — from 2002 to 2005.
Eleven years later, he returned to basic cable in the History Channel series Ozzy & Jack's World Detour, which ran for three seasons (28 episodes) and ended in 2018.
Additional TV credits included cameos on The Conners and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He also lent his voice to episodes of The 7D, Bubble Guppies, Fish Hooks and South Park.
