NCIS Sneak Peek: Maria Bello Arrives to Give Gibbs a ‘Good Fight’
NCIS‘ Leroy Jethro Gibbs is going to like having Special Agent Jacqueline “Jack” Sloane around — at least to hear her tell it in this exclusive first look at a promo touting Maria Bello‘s debut.
In the CBS drama’s Tuesday, Oct. 17 episode, titled “Skeleton Crew” and directed by cast member Rocky Carroll, Director Vance welcomes Agent Sloane, a forensic psychologist he lobbied to transfer from California. Alas, she arrives in the midst of a storm that has shut down Washington, D.C., leaving the team to investigate the kidnapping of a sailor in the dark.
Though a profiler of sorts by trade, Sloane is “a gun-carrying, badge-carrying agent” — and has been for about 10 years, co-showrunner Frank Cardea told TVLine. And when she first meets Gibbs (played by Mark Harmon), “it’s a real shocker of a reveal,” the EP teases. “She pulls a little stunt on him before they meet.”
As suggested by the promo above, Gibbs may have met his match, especially since Sloane reports not to “Boss,” but Director Vance. “Giving Mark someone to crash against who’s not going to be swayed very easily is going to be fun to watch,” Brian Dietzen put it during a recent Q&A.

Bring back Ziva
She is never, ever coming back not after all the bridges she burned with this show, nor should she.
I just want one episode where Ziva (who orchestrated the whole fake death in the fire thing so that she could go after the perps more easily) and Tony reunite and ride off into the sunset with their daughter.

Unless the next spin off is going to be titled NCIS Zombieland, Ziva is not coming back. Besides, after the stunt Cote pulled, I highly doubt she is a highly sought after actress in US.

As long as they steer clear of any romance between her and Gibbs. I wouldn’t balk at a relationship between him and Laura San Giacomo’s character even if she isn’t a redhead. And no romance between Bishop and Reeves either. JMO
Laura San Giacomo’s Dr. Grace is married, so I wouldn’t expect a relationship between her and Gibbs. Not to mention that’s really against ethics. Doctors shouldn’t have relationships with their patients.
I sure hope they don’t have Bellos character get romantically involved with Gibbs.
Theoretically agents aren’t supposed to get involved with their colleagues either, so …….
But that is more an HR (and Gibbs’ Rules) thing than ethics or legality. And technically speaking, the only relationship between coworkers we’ve seen has been Abby & Tim sleeping together once, and Bishop & the translator, and both of those relationships would be of the “fill out a form and give it to HR so the agency’s butt is covered” variety. Yes, Tony & Ziva were clearly quite close… but they were also just as clearly ignoring their feelings and refusing to admit them even to themselves… until Ziva left.
Another storm leaving the agents in the dark? I liked it the first time when Ziva and McGee were trapped in the elevator.
That wasn’t caused by a storm. That was caused by the bad guys who were trying to steal something from a server farm. They took out the power so they could break into the ISP. But I do agree, Power Down was a great episode!
I like her and I’m looking forward to her arrival. With the new and improved Gibbs (who is no longer therapy adverse) things could get very interesting. I also want to see whether Tim processes his PTSD or backslides.
Don’t like that Sloane reports to Vance undermines Gibbs authority.
Sloane is not coming in as a field agent to be part of Gibbs team. She is coming as a Forensic Psychologist for the agency. She will have her own office and everything. Vance is her boss just as Vance is Gibbs’ boss (and Abby’s and Ducky’s boss too, as they work for the agency), so how could this undermine Gibbs’ authority?
Not a fan of Bello. I do not think she will bring anything good to the team. Too many changes in this show, thinking it’s time to find something else to watch.

Haven’t seen any of the new episodes, just not that committed to NCIS as I once was.
At least BONES knew when to go out before it became too stale.
Although I’ll admit that Gibbs & McGee dealing with being taking prisoner & the resulting PTSD is kind of a new wrinkle – Even if Tony had the same experience earlier.

Nice sexual tension! Unlike others, I hope she and Gibbs get together. Gibbs has changed enough that it could work and she seems like she can handle him, and maybe he can handle her too. Can’t wait
I’ll give the show credit for going with age appropriate actresses. Too many of these shows want to pair up geriatric actors with 20 something bimbos.

As usual, people crapping about new characters. One they announced Bello quite awhile ago. Two this series is in it’s 15th season. All series change their cast many times over by now.

That’s too bad as you’re missing some of the best episodes and the best start to the season in a long time. Sure, there are changes, but I think it’s mostly for the better.
Has Clayton reeves left the show? He was in first one back and AWOL since. I really like the character at least explain where he is if he is only going to feature sparodically
Since her season on ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Maria Bello has always stuck in my mind for playing such a sinister and despicable psycho. Her demise on that series was much deserved and couldn’t have come soon enough. I keep waiting for her to turn sinister against Gibbs somehow on this show. After that performance I never got used to her again as a ‘nice character’.
After watching several episodes, I found Agent Sloan grating enough that I am avoiding the show that I have watched for years.
Do people really like Sloane? Latest episode showing a profiler in the field with a weapon is just dumb. Have any of these folks ever been in combat? Who wants the practicing psychologist taking on the enemy? Just moronic.
She was in military combat as we saw in a recent episode involving the senator’s son. Even if she wasn’t in the military, it’s possible that part of her job involves her going out into the field to interview witnesses and question suspects. I doubt someone would do that unarmed considering the type of cases they get. As to whether or not I like her, I’m kind of middle of the road. I like her quirk of guessing the sucker colors that people take from the bowl on her desk, and I like her interactions with the cast. I do think they need to define her role a little more, but that will likely come with time and depend if she sticks around for more than one season.
