Emotional Mayim Bialik Rendered 'Speechless' Amid 'Exceptionally Painful' War In Israel — WATCH
Mayim Bialik took to Instagram Live on Monday to recite the Shema, a Jewish prayer, to show her support for the people of Israel in light of the horrific situation currently unfolding.
"I don't know what to say, I'm kind of speechless," she told her followers after concluding the prayer. "It's not my job to be a politician. It's not my job to give people a running commentary about what's going on in the world. But I am a very public Jewish person, and it feels conspicuous to not say something today about how a breach like this could happen, and what it means."
On Saturday, the Palestinian militant group Hamas launched a series of deadly attacks on Israel. Amid the ongoing fighting, 1,400 Israelis and Palestinians have been killed, with thousands more injured.
Bialik continues, "My family has lived in Israel since I was born, and in that time we have never known anything like this. There's a lot I want to say, there's a lot that I'm furious about, and there's a lot of misunderstanding that I'd like to clear up."
"It's been an exceptionally painful time for those of us who are in the diaspora," Bialik adds. "There's a level of disbelief, there's a level of terror and fear. I know it's late in Israel. Our hearts are with you, no matter what side of the political divide we are on. Jews from all ends of the political spectrum have been coming together in miraculous ways."

Bialik has since last Spring been on hiatus from co-hosting Jeopardy! due to the myriad Hollywood strikes. It's believed that she will return once the SAG-AFTRA strike is resolved.
And Bialik is just one of many celebrities to have publicly condemned the attacks in the past few days. "My heart is aching," Gal Gadot posted, while Natalie Portman wrote, "I am in horror at these barbaric acts and my heart is pounding with love and prayer for the families of all affected." Other outspoken celebrities have included Jamie Lee Curtis, Yael Grobglas, Amy Schumer and Sarah Silverman.
