TVLine Items: Jason Isaacs Becomes Cary Grant, Marie Osmond Visits B&B And More

Jason Isaacs transforms into a Hollywood legend in the first photos from Archie, ITV/BritBox's four-part drama about the life of actor Cary Grant.

The Harry Potter and Star Trek: Discovery alum portrays the iconic film star, born Archibald Alexander Leach, in the limited series, which explores Grant's "troubled childhood and how extreme poverty, his father's adultery and the loss of his older brother, John, tore the family apart and sent his loving mother (Succession's Harriet Walter) into a downward spiral of grief and depression," per the official description. The story reveals "how deceit, cruelty and one, overpowering lie shaped Archie's life."

Archie goes on to chronicle Grant's rise to fame, including how "a chance meeting with the comedian George Burns helped him find his first footing on the acting ladder and a contract with a movie studio who felt he needed to change his name."

But even at the height of his celebrity, the actor "was breaking all box office records, but desperately unhappy in his private life," with two failed marriages when he began to woo actress Dyan Cannon (Casualty's Laura Aikman).

Archie — written by Jeff Pope (Philomena) — will first premiere on the UK's ITV in November, after which it will be available in December on BritBox in all its territories (North America, Australia, South Africa and the Nordics).
