House Of The Dragon's Season 2 Finale Leaks On TikTok

Another online leak has hit HBO's House of the Dragon.

Several scenes from Sunday's Season 2 finale leaked on TikTok Tuesday night, just five days before the closing episode's airing. Fourteen videos and reportedly 30 minutes of finale footage began circulating social media, with some videos banking over 100,000 views each before the TikTok account was eventually banned. Despite being removed on that particular platform, some of the footage had already made its way onto X and Reddit.

"We are aware that clips from the House of the Dragon season finale have surfaced across social media platforms," an HBO spokesperson told TVLine in a statement. "The clips were posted after an unintentional release from an international third-party distributor. HBO is aggressively monitoring and removing clips from the internet, and fans can watch the episode in its entirety this Sunday night on HBO and Max."

The Game of Thrones prequel is unfortunately no stranger to breaches like this. The Season 1 finale leaked just two days before its October 23, 2022 airdate, that time stemming from a distribution partner in Europe, the Middle East or Africa. HBO also weathered persistent piracy issues during Game of Thrones' original eight-season run.

The Season 2 finale is set to air on HBO Sunday, Aug. 4 at 9/8c. (Watch a trailer for the episode here.) In the season's eighth and final installment, the Targaryens prepare for battle, as factions on both #TeamGreen and #TeamBlack march, sail and fly to war. Additionally, the series has already been renewed for a third season.
