Hawaii Five-0 Finale Fired a Bullet at McGarrett! What Happens Next?

Turning ye ol’ “Who shot JR?” cliffie on its ear, Hawaii Five-0‘s Season 9 finale left us wondering : Did Omar Hassan’s wife successfully ambush Steve by firing the plastic pistol she sneaked through security? Or did someone else (we’re looking at you, Jerry) wind up taking the bullet for McGarrett, causing Danny to remark, “Oh my god…”?
After Five-0’s latest business with Aaron Wright had been handled, Azra Hassan arrived at HQ with her young son, Khalid, claiming that she wanted to apologize for her husband’s attack on Steve’s SEAL team that resulted in Joe White’s death earlier in the season.
“I wanted to show [Khalid] the power of forgiveness,” she told Steve. “They say time heals all wounds…. But I have learned you have to do these things for yourself. I wish for something better for my son. I want to show him a mother’s way.
“The most merciful of person is the one who forgives when he is able to take revenge,” she added, before she and Khalid shook hands with the Commander. Thing is, Azra was chock full of hooey. As Steve turned to walk the visitors out, Azra grabbed a ceramic gun from Khalid’s (apparently unchecked!) book bag and and aimed it down the hall. “I ask God every day for his mercy… because I have none!” she growled, before squeezing off a round in Steve’s direction.
But did the bullet with Steve’s name on it in fact make its way to its intended target? Rewatch the cliffhanger below, then vote!

No one got hurt. This is all for dramatic effect. They wanted to end the season on a bang(pun intended). The will open season 10 saying they dodged that bullet (again pun intended)

The options are hilarious but I am really worried about Jerry. I occured to me that we saw him evolve a lot in season 9 and I hope that is something they plan to continue vs. just amplifying the impact of something happening to him. I admit that a storyline like that would bring huge storyline opportunities for the remaining characters but it would also break my heart as I love Jerry. I guess this worry is the whole point of the cliffhanger though.
Frankly I’m a little worried that it will be Jerry but he won’t pull through. Jorge Garcia has been m.i.a. in quite a few episodes this past season. But I would love for Catherine to return for good. After the Joe White arc at both the end of season 8 and during season 9 it seems to me Steve and Catherine are endgame. I mean from the season premiere Catherine played a large role in the unfolding of events and that was even before she was onscreen.
I picked B just because the Alcatraz reference is hilarious (and reminds me that we never got answers).
I like the Catherine Rollins option but only if it means she’s unequivocably, absolutely DEAD and Steve can finally be put out of his misery and happy again.
ROFL… I LOVE this scenario! At least her once a year useless appearance wouldn’t be so useless. She could save Steve and Jerry and go out as a bad ass heroine AND we and Steve would finally be done with her for good! Ohhhhhh if only we could write for the show! ROFL

You all wish. Lenkov has made it crystal clear she is there until the end so buckle up. If any character is useless its Danny. He is steadily becoming a guest star and all he does is bitch and moan. He would be better off doing his plays for his buddies to enjoy and selling out 30 seat theatres.

I think it may be Jerry and if so he’s gotta survive. He is key to 5-0 field operations and otherwise with his wealth of knowledge. I’d say his importance far exceeds other members of the task force without a doubt. Of course this is dependent upon whether or not he is staying or leaving. If another opportunity has presented itself then that’s another thing. I think it would be a huge void with his absence if it’s Jerry.
If it’s Steve I don’t even want to go there. How much more can happen to him?
This poll is amazing! I voted Jerry just because I think he was probably the one who got shot, but Steve should totally use that bullet slug/soda tab ring to propose… to Danny. Who he obviously doesn’t want to get back together with Rachel. That’s the true love I want to see in season 10. And Jerry, post gunshot recovery, looking for Jack and Kate to tell them they have to go baaack!
Ok here is what happened…the bullet strikes Steve in the chest but ricoshays off the SEAL trident that he had surgically planted in his chest then hits Jerry in the chest but ricoshays off his area 51 pocket protector and strikes Danno in his thick New Jersey skull leaving nothing more than a slight dimple that’s why he exclaimed Oh my God. The spent round rally harmlessly away.

I said Jerry, I really think he’s most likely but I think a dark horse is Khalid. A little less likely since height wise she’d be aiming above his head but how tragic would it be if she tried to kill Steve and her son runs in front of her and she hits him instead? Still I went with Jerry which seems to be the majority vote right now.

Interesting. I rewatched the clip again and Jerry’s presence is just so random. I don’t see how he isn’t the one who took that bullet.

Agreed. Steve and Jerry would be too obvious, so it might have been the kid who got shot by the plastic gun and to show that when the bullets fly, almost anyone can get hit.

He wasn’t an original cast member though and the blind item was updated later that the actor had agreed to stay on for another season. That said I do consider Jorge leaving a real possibilty. It’s almost been like they have been building up to something with Jerry this season.
I just want Catherine back either to care for Steve or to take a bullet for Steve – whatever.
I think Steve but he doesn’t die. He’s in ICU for awhile and then pulls through. They just cannot get rid of anyone else right now. Still trying to get over the cast change recently. I do love this show.
Tbh were all thinking it was either Jerry Steve or Danny what of the gun actually backfired and killed her or the kid .. can’t wait for season 10
