Brooke Shields To Headline New Crime Drama Allie & Andi At Acorn TV
Brooke Shields has already penned multiple memoirs, and now she's becoming a novelist — or at least playing one on TV.
Acorn TV announced on Monday that Shields will star in Allie & Andi, a new crime drama from creator/writer Robin Bernheim (Star Trek: Voyager, When Calls the Heart). The pair has previously collaborated on Netflix's Mother of the Bride.
The six-episode murder mystery will be set in a colonial New England town, and follow a "bestselling novelist (Shields) who forms an unlikely alliance with an aspiring writer and influencer to find the killer of a close friend." The series will begin production this fall and is expected to premiere in 2026.
"I'm overjoyed to collaborate once again with the incredible Robin Bernheim who has created two strong, smart women you want to root for within Allie & Andi," Shields said in a statement. "The writing and storytelling really resonate with me, and this is a project I'm not only proud of but a role I can't wait to play."
Shields and Bernheim will also serve as executive producers alongside Daniel March, Carrie Stein, Rob Fox and Shannon Cooper.
Shields' previous TV credits include Jane the Virgin, Law & Order: SVU, Lipstick Jungle and Suddenly Susan. Plus, TVLine previously reported another small-screen gig for the actress: Shields is guest-starring in Ryan Murphy's forthcoming Hulu legal drama All's Fair opposite Kim Kardashian, Glenn Close and Naomi Watts. The series is set to premiere sometime in 2025. (Neither Hulu nor 20th Television have confirmed Shields' casting.)
