Nick Carter 'Completely Heartbroken' Over Sister Bobbie Jean's Death — Read His Tribute

Backstreet Boys singer Nick Carter has broken his silence on the recent death of his sister Bobbie Jean, who passed away in December.

"It may take a lifetime to fully process the loss my family has endured over the years – most recently, with the sudden passing of our sister Bobbie Jean," Carter wrote in an Instagram post on Thursday, alongside a childhood photo of him and his sibling. "I am completely heartbroken. Thank you for all your love and kind words. We are reminded again that life is precious, fleeting and to cherish the time we have with the ones we love. I know she is finally at peace with God. I love you BJ."

On Dec. 27, TMZ reported that Bobbie Jean had been found unresponsive in her Tampa, Fla. home on Dec. 23. At the time, she was reportedly on probation for cocaine possession, but TMZ reports that no narcotics or drug paraphernalia were found in Bobbie Jean's bedroom or bathroom — meaning no signs of foul play.

A cause of death has not been reported as of press time.

Bobbie Jean — who previously appeared on her family's E! reality series House of Carters — is tragically the third Carter sibling to pass away. Pop singer Leslie Carter was pronounced dead in January 2012 after she was found unresponsive at home. In November 2022, singer and reality star Aaron Carter was found dead at his California home; an autopsy concluded that his death was caused by drowning and the effects of inhaling difluoroethane, the main ingredient used in cans of compressed air, and alprazolam, a generic form of Xanax.

The late Carters are survived by Nick and Angel Carter, who is Aaron's twin sister, along with their mother, Jane.
