Worst Cooks In America Premiere Pays Tribute To Late Host And Chef Anne Burrell
Food Network's Worst Cooks in America has paid tribute to its dearly departed co-host, the late celebrity chef Anne Burrell.
At the end of Monday's premiere (which kicked off the co-host's final season), the screen showed a photo of a smiling Burrell with the words, "In Memoriam, Anne Burrell, 1969-2025." It was followed by a note reading, "If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available. Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline or chat at 988lifeline.org."

Burrell died June 17 at her home in Brooklyn, N.Y. The New York Office of Chief Medical Examiner confirmed her cause of death to be a suicide. The exact cause was acute intoxication due to the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine and amphetamine.
Food Network paid tribute to Burrell in a statement posted on social media in June: "We are deeply saddened to share the news that beloved chef, Anne Burrell, passed away this morning. Anne was a remarkable person and culinary talent — teaching, competing and always sharing the importance of food in her life and the joy that a delicious meal can bring. Our thoughts are with Anne's family, friends and fans during this time of tremendous loss."
"Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend — her smile lit up every room she entered," her family wrote in a statement. "Anne's light radiated far beyond those she knew, touching millions across the world. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit and boundless love remain eternal."
Reps from the Food Network told People that it will "pay tribute to Anne each week" throughout the new season.
