CBS' Kayce-Centric Yellowstone Spinoff: Five Characters Who Have To Cross Over

We know, we know. CBS is only reportedly developing a Yellowstone spinoff centered around Luke Grimes' Kayce Dutton. But you can probably guess that that hasn't in the slightest slowed our roll in terms of considering the crossover potential of characters from the mothership, which concluded its five-season run on Paramount Network in December.

That Kelsey Asbille and Brecken Merrill would have to reprise their roles of Kayce's family — wife Monica and son Tate — is a given. Where the former Livestock Commissioner goes, his nearest and dearest follow. But who else should at very least pay Kayce a visit on the new show, which is said to be a procedural rather than a continuing drama a la the OG Yellowstone? You'll recall that in the series' finale (recapped here), most of our mainstays were scattered far and wide. So who could be brought back?

5. Beth

No way in hell Kayce's big sister wouldn't be checking in on him. She'd longed for him to get out from under their father's shadow for ages, so she'd want to see if he's breathing any easier now that he is.

4. Ryan

Kayce could always count on his fellow livestock agent to have his back. If Kayce's procedural finds him in any kind of law-enforcement role, recruiting Ryan to be a part of the team would be a no-brainer.

3. Thomas

Seeing as Kayce and his family live on what used to be the Yellowstone's East Camp, and the ranch's land was given to Rainwater's tribe, they're practically neighbors.

2. Avery

When the onetime Yellowstone hand confessed her love to Kayce, he shot her right down. But if they happened to reconnect during another rough patch in his and Monica's marriage? Hmm.

1. Lloyd

The ranch's senior hand ain't getting any younger. When his time comes, we could totally see him seeking out Kayce for one last ride across the pastures that he knows as well as he does the back of his own hand.
