Virgin River Season 5 Wrap Photos Offer Clues About Netflix Drama's Return

The cameras have officially stopped rolling in Virgin River for Season 5, which means fans of the Netflix drama are that much closer to reuniting with Jack, Mel and the rest of their small-town favorites.

And what would the end of a season be without emotional goodbye posts from the cast on social media? A number of the show's stars have shared public farewells (for now) from Virgin River's Vancouver set, some of which tease what's coming up for their characters when we see them again in 2023.

Read on to see how the cast of Virgin River wrapped filming Season 5, including what we can glean from their farewell messages, then drop a comment with your own hopes for the show's future below. (We'll add more to our list of any other cast members share anything.)

Lauren Hammersley (Charmaine)

Virgin River's fourth season ended with a jaw-dropping reveal about Charmaine's pregnancy, but if you thought we'd be meeting those twins anytime soon, think again!

"It's my 5th year of pregnancy and I don't know what everyone is complaining about," Hammersley captioned this wrap photo of herself, still rocking that fake baby bump.

Colin Lawrence (Preacher)

Lawrence's goodbye post, a video of the "open" sign shutting off outside of Jack's bar, didn't offer up any new clues about Preacher's journey in Season 5, but we'll never complain about his A+ use of Semisonic's "Closing Time."

So here's what we do know about Preacher's future, according to showrunner Patrick Sean Smith:

"How Paige and Christopher fit into in his life will be addressed in Season 5. Then he also has Julia, who's kind of waiting in the wings. He has a lot of ladies that are waiting for him to see which way he's going to go. We're also going deeper into his non-romantic life. We don't know a lot about him. We'd love to see him interact with other characters he hasn't yet."

Mark Ghanimé (Cameron)

"Boy oh boy [showrunner Patrick Sean Smith] and the team have something special in store," Ghanimé wrote in his caption. "Can't wait for you all to see what the town and the good doctor have coming for you!" And just to get our imaginations running, he noted, "Cameron looks happy here, doesn't he? Any guesses why?"

Ghanimé also used stethoscope and chili pepper emojis to tease interesting storylines for Cameron both in and out of the office, adding that this season presented "a couple firsts for [him] as an actor."

So not only will we be getting a lot of Cameron in Season 5, but perhaps we'll also get to see Ghanimé's character in a whole new light.

Zibby Allen (Brie)

Allen's post summed up her experience shooting Season 5 as "sweet AF."

Unfortunately, the same probably couldn't be said for her character; Brie is in for a tumultuous run of episodes now that her abusive ex has reentered her life.

Kai Bradbury (Denny)

"That's a Season 5 wrap on Denny!" Bradbury wrote on this photo of his chair. "[Virgin River] fam, it's gonna be next level and I can't wait for you to visit our beautiful town again soon!"

On the surface, Bradbury's caption is pretty vague. But at least it tells us that Denny — who revealed his terminal illness in the Season 4 finale — survives through the end of Season 5. And that's not nothing!

Annette O'Toole (Hope)

"Today was my last day of shooting on Virgin River Season 5. It has been a wonderful time," O'Toole wrote, also using her post to show off the scarf she made for her make-up artist as a wrap present.

There isn't much intel to pull from this one, but considering what a nightmare Season 4 was for Hope, we're just glad to see that O'Toole's character survives Season 5.

Grayson Gurnsey (Ricky)

Just kidding! As much as we'd love to share what Gurnsey has to say about his Season 5 experience... we're still not sure he even had a Season 5 experience. Ricky left for basic training at the end of Season 4, and we have no idea when he'll be back.

As Smith reminds TVLine, "the timeline was set that he would be in basic training until December, so as much as we move at the pace that we're moving... I won't say it'll be in Season 10, but he's a fan favorite and everybody loves him, so we'll probably see Ricky at some point down the road."
